The north is not just happy with the tax reform. They know it will deny them a lot from the oil, alcohol, telecommunications etc goodies that they've had unlimited access to. And above all, it will weaken the stronghold at the center which they value so much. I pray this bill scale through, then we can now channel our frustration to the state governors which is closer to us than the federal government which we often do.

In as much as I hate APC and Emilokan mantra, I support the tax reform bill unfortunately the revenue generated goes into private pockets but it's a good start until institutions are strengthened to stop individuals siphoning recklessly.

I am a supporter of APC or tinubu government,but you see this tax reform, local government autonomy and regional government is a welcome development.Very soon is for state government to manage all her resources and pay back to the federal government.

Please allow Sen. Ndume to vibrate all he want, it his constitutional right. The bill will be passed nonetheless. The North is only one part of Nigeria and the rest of the country has kowtow to/sacrifice for them for far too long. It is time to do things that will serve the interest of all Nigerians.

There were no new investments in new or existing oil fields. Oil majors ignored Nigeria and went to other African countries. What we had decayed. Our lack of urgency is a major reason for everything from our poor production, to subsidy, to oil companies leaving, to fuel Scarcity to we experienced in the last decade. Estimates say we missed out on at least $50b in oil sector investments.

Delay in passing this tax bill means delays in reaping the benefits of the tax bill. If you say the tax bill is bad that’s a different story but to say why the rush means you don’t want progress for the country.

What exactly is the problem with these Northerners? They are always so eager to oppose any policy that could move Nigeria forward! Why should the rest of us be kept at your level of mediocrity just because it's your destiny not to develop?! I have been one of the fiercest critics of Tinubu, even as a Yoruba man, but on this tax reform, he has my full support—100%.

I honestly pity you guys in the North; you have no idea who Tinubu is! If you provoke him too much on any of his proposed policies, trust me, he will eventually bring about the much-discussed dissolution of Nigeria. Your eyes will be opened, greedy people! How long will you continue to reap where you did not sow?

Ndume and his allies need to be very careful; "To your tents, O Israel" is already on everyone's lips! It's either we move Nigeria forward or we bury it. The North is not in a position to blackmail the rest of us - your highly pauperized population is of no use to anyone,be it politically,economically or whatever! As much as the South wants to see the bill passed with some amendments that are considerate to the average Dike, Haranu and Joke, we should understand that Sen. Ndume is doing his work perfectly to support the resolution of his constituency. That's why he is in the Senate.

That is how they were jubilating when Tinubu gleefully announced subsidy is gone and today we are battling with massive inflation.

This tax bill will do nothing but create more hardship and suffering for poor Nigerians.

The tax bill is proposing to raise VAT from 7.5% to 15% and you're being deceived by propaganda of north not contributing to VAT but enjoying the benefit.

90% of the vatable items are things consumed by southerners (south south, south east, south west and parts of middle belt).... When they pass this bill, the price of everything that is manufactured in the market and is vatable will be increased in southern Nigeria.... that is when your eyes will open and you'll start crying.

Tinubu is not tackling corruption... You don't hear of him sending bill to national assembly to make death sentence the punishment for corruption.... But he's busy sending bill to raise taxes for poor Nigerians and borrow more dollars, funds that he'll loot.

There's a reason Kenyan youths brought their country to a standstill because of this same tax bill their president used corrupt legislators to pass through...

Keep watching comedy skits and laughing your life away while these stupid corrupt politicians look for ways to make your life a living hell.

I think it means hundred percent control by state government.... Instead of them having just 15 percent and giving the rest to the center.... So technically every VAT generated by the state stays in the state.... It should also extended to resources also....
