Fisayo Soyombo Has Been Released - FIJ by fergie001(mod): 10:20pm On Nov 29, 2024
The Nigerian Army has released investigative journalist Fisayo Soyombo.

The Foundation for Investigative Journalism (FIJ) confirmed his release on its social media handles on Friday night.

“We can confirm that our founder ‘Fisayo Soyombo has now been released by the Nigerian army, following the intense media campaign you all mounted.

“FIJ acknowledges the Nigerian Army’s deliberate mischaracterisation to suggest an involvement in “illegal oil bunkering”.
FIJ will also address this statement appropriately.

“Our immediate concern is regarding the safety of ‘Fisayo Soyombo in view of extensive information sharing with the Army on his fieldwork during the period of his detention. We are assessing the situation and hoping that his safety will not be jeopardised after release,” the statement explained.

The Division Army Public Relations, Lieutenant Colonel Danjuma Danjuma, had earlier confirmed Soyombo’s arrest, saying that he was apprehended at an illegal oil bunkering site.

Go and sin more but I know this guy is very stubborn and manipulative, he'd start writing different narratives to implicate the security forces with the aim to curry public sympathy, especially that of his media colleagues.

Someone that was arrested at the airport in PH is now alleged to be arrested at an illegal oil bunkering site
Re: Fisayo Soyombo Has Been Released - FIJ by richiemcgold: 11:26pm On Nov 29, 2024
He was released because they couldn't nail any offence to him, not because of any intense media campaign. It would have been a different experience if he was truly involved in bunkering, oil theft or gun running.

Welcome back Fisayo Soyombo.

Babablu bulabu.

An investigative journalist probably investigating how your army officers are into oil theft. Same way he exposed custom officers aiding smuggling.

Now that the oil bunkerers and those arrested are aware of his botched mission they and their kingpins will keep a close eye on him. This shows his investigative journalism does not have the support of anybody including the authorities.
He should be careful if he want to try that in drug trafficking business or other dangerous ventures.

The Nigerian army can't just stop embarrassing this country, they picked him up before he exposed them.

Why are Nigerians so hopelessly in love with their oppressors?

Na wa for some of u who support nonsense Sha.

Someone is trying to expose the high level of government/security officials in oil bunkering activities and gets arrested by the military that should be protecting him and see what U are typing.

Tomorrow it's still people like u that will keep making excuse for government failure claiming oil production has dropped. Do u even know that it is bunkering activities that usually leads to reduction in Nigeria's oil production output?

This same Fisayo guy did an expose on Customs aiding smuggling activities and the government has refused to take any action.

I blame Fisayo tho for risking his life to try to save Nigeria that has people like u inside.

The bunkerers were actually the ones who snitched on him..

The Main Snitcher got Snitched on..
And his investigations crashed.

Re: Fisayo Soyombo Has Been Released - FIJ by jaxxy(m): 5:52am On Nov 30, 2024
we don't know whose side the army is on on this bunkering affair.

His cover was blown and sensitive investigative information obtained from him which might be implicating those really behind the bunkering business or its operations.

Nigerians are of incomplete metamorphosis. Majority of youths and adults here have baby brains. That is why they think how they do.

If not for the social media I would have downplayed the possibility and scale of the numbers of cantankerous buffoons living in this country. You are equal to 200 buffoons rolled into one. grin

The love you have for the corrupt and the feudal oppressor is out of this world. Fisayo was investigating the age-long involvement of our officers In Oil bunkery in the creeks. He investigated corruption in the Customs, he investigated the Prisons, wetin be 'go and sin no more'. What sort of creature are you exactly? grin

And you believe the army narrative even before the said army concludes investigation? No point to rush to conclusion without getting the full picture. Even accused have to defend themselves. So let's hear from him. We don't even know the circumstances that led to his arrest at the site he was arrested.
