RodgersAkpafu:That is another salient point. Lots of cultural similarities amongst various ethnic groups in the country. Our major problem is poverty, nothing else. As for Mr Causal, his honesty is appreciated. It is better to have more of his kind who say as it is. |

Gerrard59:(1) Some White Nativists when discussing this realize it was an error. Especially coming from a people who claimed to have Enlightenment and Christian Charity at the time they were conquering and enslaving others. If they didn't claim that higher knowledge what they did could be tolerated. They do deserve a lot of credit for abolishing SLAVERY, something Black Africa couldn't voluntarily let go of, a real shame. The greater Karma has fallen upon Black Africa for selling their own people into Slavery. That's why Black Africa will forever remain the poorest continent and the biggest Black Nation will remain the Poverty Capital of the World!!!! (2) Japan, Korea and China have low birth rates. Nobody is threatening to take over those countries. The ONLY thing any country needs is to avoid bleeding heart WOKEISM and get a strong military, preferably with nuclear weapons capability or real potential to make a weapon at short notice. Simple. (3) THEY should ensure Africa becomes wealthy? That's the duty of the Chinese, not White people. If the UK is really serious what they need to do is elect Nigel Farage AND Kemi B in a Unity Government and deport every single asylum seeker and other illegal immigrant. Then deploy the Royal Navy with orders to shoot and sink on sight any boat illegally approaching their coasts. Problem solved. Anyhow Happy Thanksgiving, the USA is still celebrating the Return of King Trump & Prince Baron. Good Luck to Nigeria. |

BondRiv: ![]() The West has allowed themselves to be browbeaten into tolerating their own destruction. Yes they did wrong, but you can't deny they did much good too. Without the West, Black Africans would still be indulging in slavery. Developing countries have tended to embrace SOCIALISM for the sole reason that Western colonialist nations are CAPITALIST. That's the reason they're poor, it has little to do with Western sabotage. Yes Western sanctions have hurt Zimbabwe badly, but what kind of Western sanctions is to blame for Nigeria becoming the Poverty Capital of the World? It's time to THINK BETTER, think logically, think even if it kills!!!! Good Luck to Nigerians. |

casualobserver:This is one of the reasons why 45% of Hispanic electorate voted for Donald Trump. They recognize that Anglo-Saxons just have a knack for creating prosperous, inventive, high-trust societies with high HDI. Whatever that instinct is, it must be preserved, it must be defended...no matter the cost! casualobserver:Now the other comment on how immigrants have destroyed Lagos, the solution is simple - allow for a regional or tribal system with a high degree of autonomy in Nigeria. Maybe even secession? Any thoughts on that? Good Luck to Nigerians. |

CodeTemplarr:Arab countries were not countries then Except maybe the Ottomans every Arab country (or most of them) is less than 150 years old most r even about 100 years wetin concern them with slavery? Unlike the European counties who state sanctioned colonialism /slavery and have been there for centuries Not the same thing The Arab merchants sold slaves to the Ottomans that's about it |

IbeOkehie:I agree with you but I think at this point it is academic. It’s never going to happen. If you observe the resistance over the tax bill, it is clear any restructuring or return to a structure that respects and gives autonomy to the constituent nations is a pipe dream. But who knows Tinubu is restructuring the country by stealth. A lot of the things he is doing: LG autonomy, VAT reforms, etc are actually the end game of restructuring. So maybe he has a plan. Maybe he is tackling the low hanging pg fruits first. The one thing I know is Awo said it from the get go! I said it in a previous post that the way Tinubu is moving I suspect he is not planning for a second term and plans to make structural changes in his first term. He is pressing along wi5 a lot of reforms that the Northern cabal are unhappy with and he doesn’t seem bothered. Having said that there are progressive elements in the North that know the country needs to be restructured.

Savagethe21st:I am neither an immigrant, illegal, nor do I live in the uk, neither did I disrespect the indigenes when I was there despite being a citizen by birth. The good thing is there is a general awakening and an awareness amongst hosts worldwide whether Europe, USA or Lagos that our hospitality openness has been abused and host communities worldwide are wising up. you cannot open your doors to people who do not have the same values as you particularly with regards to respecting your hosts. The same chaos that caused you to flee your land is what you are bringing to others whether Uk or Lagos.. Fix your country or your zone and you wouldn’t have to become a nuisance to others and when you become a visitor to other peoples homes respect their home. It’s that simple. You wouldn’t take it if strangers come to mess up you land that’s why you protect your land with all you have and keep it homogenous. We are no longer allowing ourselves to be gaslighted with name calling. We are fully aware that you know what you are doing. |

Savagethe21st:Yeah Zik said much the same about Awo. Everyone can judge the results and see who was the miscreant and who was wiser...even a casual observer can see that much. That was a brilliant pun, did you catch it? casualobserver:Again I agree. There will be no autonomy or secession, every tribe is condemned to this Zoo. So who knows where Tinubu is headed. His RECORD, especially vis a vis Occupy Nigeria 2012, leaves much room for doubt. We shall see. On Awo, this Igbo man is 100% in agreement. Awo was a visionary, unfortunately he had to contend with Black Africans....always a losing proposition. Much was lost by not following his prescriptions on tribal autonomy. Good Luck to Nigerians. |

casualobserver:How does this tie in with the theory of immigrant paradox? You argue that the presence of immigrants leads to social chaos and fraud, but how do you account for the fact that many immigrants have faced systemic barriers, including discrimination, and still manage to contribute positively in various sectors? Could it be that the problems you identify are more about socio-economic inequality and prejudice rather than the cultural background of immigrants themselves? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Regarding the topic. I view issues like these as "political spaghettification". Immigration is one of the most divisive issues in human global history and will remain so. Immigration have been part of US politics for decades and it will remain so. In the 1930's over one million Mexicans were deported from the US but what most people don't know is that most of them were US citizens. I know of a Nigerian who was refused entry into Nigeria and has been in the US for about 35 years without hope of ever going to Nigeria despite many attempts. If push comes to shove, citizenship won't save anyone, that's a secret nobody knows. ![]() |

IbeOkehie:I remember walking around 3am to a faraway convenience store, I saw young folks walking and riding bicycles late in the night. Gisting, smoking, drinking etc., with no problem. The convenience store I initially went to couldn't process the transaction I desired only for a 19 year old Japanese male who suggested walking me down to another store that processes the transaction. I told him clearly "If there is anything you would do as a Japanese to ensure your country remains as safe as it is, do it" |

Apparently the PM has gone MAGA as in Make Anglos Great Again. King Trump is changing the world. Good Luck to Nigeria. |

Gerrard59:I mean Most streets of the UK are safe. even at night. Some parts of London, not so much, but it's more of an economic deprivation issue than ethnicity issue, because London crime is to minorities what Blackpool crime is to white deprived boys left behind Western Leaders should stop playing to the gallery and address the elephant in the room. which is declining living standards everywhere When living standards decline, all these craziness results Even in the strictest of countries. Once the economy goes in free fall, everything goes to shyte Belgium comes to mind here But it seems that the political class is in bed with the oligarchy to screw everybody else, and the result will continue to be people yearning for far right lunatics to lead them (who clearly don't have the solutions) |

studyless123:Japanese people bombed pearl harbour the next thing 2nd and 3rd generation Japanese Americans were packed like sardine inside interment camps (fancy word for concentration camps) You know, some third world immigrants have so much low self esteem, that they are so "grateful" that "merciful" oyibo people let them in to live life that they could "never" live where they come from, so that inferiority complex keeps seeping out from the comments they make You cannot cuddle white supremacy. It's something that you have to keep challenging and weakening if minorities ever want to have peace living anywhere, even in their own countries of origin. We can talk about salient issues without fanning the embers of white supremacist right wing talking points So long story short I get what you r saying |

RodgersAkpafu:Western elites should admit it and let go of their arrogance: the era of Western economic dominance is coming to an end. Europe don enter gbese. Fight its biggest consumer then alienate its biggest energy supplier. Add an aging population (who would pay taxes to fund new developments and maintain the infrastructure?) and it becomes worse. To exacerbate the issue, the closest continent is the world's poorest. Unlike South East Asia to China, where would the EU find young consumers to patronise its products and services? I predicted everything here: https://www.nairaland.com/7801886/multipolarism-versus-hegemonism-great-power I should become a pastor by now sef. Belgium comes to mind hereThat's the intriguing thing about it. People lampoon China and the CCP, but the CCP would never sacrifice economic prosperity for ordinary Chinese above an elite class of people. Chinese or better still East Asian elites are way more pragmatic than their Western counterparts. The economic livelihoods of your citizens, especially ordinary males, MUST come first before any other group of people. |

RodgersAkpafu:That goes to show Mr Causal hypocrisy. To think that Igbos bring better cultural ideologies to any place than the other major group of which I wouldn't mention its name. The examples abound across Nigeria: outside the Lagos issue, other Nigerians know who they'd rather choose to have live amongst them. |

Gerrard59:Actually , Europe can actually guarantee decent living standards for everyone.... But to do that they need to ditch the Americans, and keep their private equity machine at bay. There is nothing wrong with the European economy as such, its just designed "somehow" The rising inequality is the problem here. It's funny you mentioned China because China is going through hell as well.... Their economy is worse now, than it was ib 2008.... it's only a matter of time before even them cracked... But their own still better because at least, their govt can easily mobilise funds and "sectorise" them This cannot happen in America and Europe because of democracy China stimulus after stimulus will be exercise in futility though, until they also address their own elephant in the room I don't even want to talk of Africa because that one is a lost case for now Globally living standards is declining because of rampant capital accumulation by the elite They are sucking all the value leaving bones for the masses, then knocking their heads to fight each other based on race tribe or whatever while they feast I agree with ur premise of paragraph 2 though the ordinary males must be taken care of |

RodgersAkpafu:Focus on your own land and let the people of Lagos determine who is a foreigner to them. Overpopulation: The time it took to go from LASU to UNILAG to LASU in the ‘80s you will spend just trying to go from Ikoyi to Lekki today. That is simply down to overcrowding. Value clash: An example: we always had environmental sanitation every month. Guess where the immigrant who abused our court system claiming denial of human rights to abolish the Sanitation exercise resulting in floods everywhere today comes from? We never had flooding when we had monthly environmental sanitation. The indigenes that were performing the exercise for decades, you think we didn’t know it impedes our movement or that we had rights? It is always a particular tribe that feel they must impose their ways on their hosts. Many of us have seen the trending podcast and how 3 Ibo hosts tried to gaslight a yoruba host over imposition of Ibo leaders in a yoruba state. Nobody is forming supremacy, if we did we would not open our doors to you in the first place but we will not be gaslighted. All we are saying is you are in our land, respect our ways…simple! After all it’s not like you came here because you like us, you came because your place does not offer opportunities and ours does. People from other tribes coexist peacefully in other people’s land……why is it always and only you? Hausa, Idoma, Edo, itsekiri, Calabar, Bayelsa people no dey Lagos? Finally you clearly do not know the history of Lagos or the difference between the Federal capital of Lagos and Lagos state and its composition and history. Let me educate you: The federal capital was Lagos Island. Apapa, Isola, Ikeja, Epe, ikorodu, Badagry, surulere, Lekki, etc etc etc we’re all part of the western region. All those industrial estates, Apapa, Isolo, Ikeja etc were built by Awo. Ikeja stands for ikorodu and Epe joint administration. They were never federal territories. The Apapa port was under the Western region. Epe, ikorodu, lekki etc are ijebus! My grandfather is from Epe. I am in my land. Even if I am not from Lagos I am in Yoruba land, I know understand and respect Yoruba culture, traditions and respect them. In your ignorance you don’t seem to understand the difference between Lagos the federal territory and Lagos the state. |
