Atiku is a rubbish talker. Those who know this say I !!! Those who don't know this say Nay!!! The I !!! Have it. In a real competitive economy, every State must have what they bring to the dinner table. You can't kick against things that will fetch money and still eat from the proceeds. All State must start working, that's how true development comes. |

“Nigerians are united in their call for a fiscal system that promotes justice, fairness, and equity. They are loud and clear that the fiscal system we seek to promote must not exacerbate the uneven development of the federating units by enhancing the status of a few states while unduly penalising others."What is the fairness and equality in states with extremely large populations that have refused to contribute significant revenue but have been parasites since Nigeria's independence, to the point of constantly asking for more states and local governments so that they can collect more allocations, yet we see no progress? Is that fair to the states that generate enormous revenue for the country? |

The north has been drawing Nigeria back for ages. It's time for them to test if they truly can survive without Nigeria or not. Imaging giving us Buhari. See where the nations' economy is today. |

Zooposki:You want the north to explode. Zulum, Udume, and now Atiku have been vibrating.......lol. a beg let Naija win this VAT issue before we move to resource control oooo. For now, it is the gateway to resource control. It is a win for top revenue generating states. No more Bamboo dey work, Monkey dey chop. Lol. Resource control will definitely enter. To me, the north should start getting ready to work their ass and generate enough revenue. I am not a fan of Tinubu, but perhaps he is the one who fits Nigerians. Lol. The north will never side with him again, but it's too late. Lol. ![]() Let them get high blood pressure gradually so they can live long to see what is called real fairness and equality. We don't want them die of heart attack now. Let's pressure them gradually, systematically, and logically. ![]() |

Foolish man. Calling the consequence of wasteful use of money penalty is tantamount to playing the victim here and that makes atiku extremely foolish someone. |

It's south-south people that has been too docile that i blame. Tinubu want to enrich lagos more through this policy, forgetting that same Lagos was built from the collective resources from all geopolitical zones, as a former capital territory. If Tinubu is trying to restructure the tax system, why is he not using the same template for the resources generated from other regions? South south, you guys has slept for far too long. The entire federating unit will share the oil money, while lagos will take bulk of tax generated within their state. |

Thewrath:Bro in as much as i am not from South East, but I v come to realise that those people have a way of surviving more than any other tribe in this country. They leave here with us in Rivers and their survival instinct inspire me alot. You said they don't produce much but I know we in Rivers have boarder with Imo and Abia and I know they have oil. With that little they have, if every one is told to go back to there region, u will marvel at what will become of their place. So don't look down on them oh .....Moreover, now we in festive mood, when they start travelling u will see how it looks as if the economic activities of Port Harcourt city has slowed down. So bro no look down on them oh, those people have high rate of survival instinct from my observation. |

I understand that a sane Federation should ‘help’ every state within its territory mostly by using resources from ‘richer’ states. This is called equity. Equity is fair and sustainable if only the federation is newly established or a new system of government just emerged e.g democracy in 1999. However, certain states have refused to develop; attract investors and have embraced anti-development, anti-education and anti-western economics; mostly fueled by adopting backward religious beliefs, values and views. Some of these states spend ridiculously, sponsor/ finance terrorism, run their minerals via black market syndicates and then rely on the national cake for running their main economy. They take advantage of equity and now equality comes. Don’t cry foul as you can’t eat your cake yet have it. Other landlocked and low-mineral states, however, can form partnerships with neighbouring states and launch joint projects to leverage each other's strengths. Many of them, like Ekiti, don’t even have an airport. In conclusion, all states in Nigeria are time-matured enough to have set themselves on a path to greatness. This bill is here to stay. The economy must be improved in every state. This will push everyone to diversify their investments in several states rather than the big 3. My 50 kobo

Tax reforms is a welcome development in Nigeria. Only those who do not wish for equity and justice, In each region in Nigeria,God has given us natural resources are we using all to the benefits of all? Not only that, many other areas are well addressed in the new tax reforms |

Omooba77:Last statement got me. The contents of the bills must align with interest of the vast majority. The above statement rubbished all Atiku has been saying from the beginning of the article. What should minorities do when the bills align with the interest of the majorities? They needs to wake up so do north. As a matter of fact,as regards this tax bill northerners are minorities. |
