The State Assemblies under the grip of the evil State Governors rejected the Local Government Autonomy, but the god of Politics and Strategy showed them whom the boss is, he pulled the rug under their feet and set free the Local Governments. So the god of Politics and Strategy Emilokan Asiwaju Jagaban does not need their support to pass the Tax Bills. Whether you like it or not, he will sign the Bills into LAW. He sent it to the National Assembly just to give you something to discuss, he doesn’t need anybody’s approval.

He could sign a Presidential Order and make the Laws without the National Assembly
How did he pull the rug? Oga calm down abeg.

So you just rush to comment. I couldn't see the difference between you and the Aboki in Kano regurgitating falsehoods.
I am sure that you people do not have a single idea of what you are saying.
Exactly what you and your Kano brothers are saying is what the contentious section of the bill is correcting. The sharing of vat would no longer be based on where the headquarters of the companies are but where the goods and services are generated or consumed. Vat on your bank charges would no longer be recorded to have all being made in Lagos, but will be recorded to have emanated from whichever state the customer is based.
So what's the fuse about.
See, aboki will not read to understand but read to complain. It will definitely benefit them but when IQ is low the abokis will never understand until Sultan/emir explain to them

Mr Husseini argued that if passed into law, the bills would not benefit the Northern States.

He condemned the Senate’s decision to approve the bills, saying, “We view it as a deliberate effort to sabotage the economy, increase hardship and further impoverishing the region.”

Mr Husseini expressed concern over the proposed VAT allocation system, noting that states like Lagos, where major corporations such as Nigerian banks, telecommunications companies, and multinational companies were headquartered, would receive the largest share of the VAT.

“Lagos and its environs would account for 80 percent of the VAT collected in Nigeria, leaving northern states with a minimal share,” he said.

He warned that if allowed to scale through, the bill would further weaken northern states, potentially rendering some unable to pay salaries and worsening poverty and hardship.

I am a staunch supporter of Peter Obi. You see this Tax reform bill? Tinubu got this policy right.

1. Have you listened to the presentation made by Taiwo Oyedele?
2. What investments EXACTLY has your northern governors done since 1999?
3. Tax reform AIMS at decentralizing VAT collection so that VAT is paid where the commodity is been used.
4. Why is it that it is ONLY the north that don't want this bill?
5. Look at the map of Nigeria and see the areas occupied by the north. We can't continue to allow that over 65% of the country to remain unproductive.

Open your eyes and stop allowing your leaders to deceive you.

Lol. Bitter and hateful old man. You keep disgracing and demarketing your ethnic group with your 'enemy of my enemy is my friends' antics.

Igbos have always openly called the North parasitic and the problem of Nigeria. They have likewise made noise about resource control, restructuring true fiscal federalism etal.

What on Earth do you hypocrites now think the tax reform bill is if not a step in that direction where all States and region begin using what they have to secure uniform development across Nigeria, stimulate healthy competition and encourage innovative/transformative , rather than parasitic, leadership?

You people are only further cementing your reputation as creatures of hate many already insist you are. You lie and pretend you want progress yet, historically, you are always on the side of regression.

At least we know the North is fighting for its stomach with beggar bowl pointing forward. What is the excuse of Igbos who have always told us they welcome and will thrive better than all else in a socio-economically competitive and innovative Nigeria where the opportunity for any State or region to become what it wants resides independently in the hands of Nigerian States and region through resource control and restructuring for equity and greater productivity?

Well, as usual, you Igbos will be shamed again with more damage to your already worthless reputations as 100% confirmed hateful and bigoted enemies of progress.

Go and watch channels TV 7pm to 10pm program of Monday December 2nd. I sat and watch live on YouTube. It will enlighten you. Even the northerners that spoke admit that it is a cowardly act to cry that it won't favour the north. The Igbo guy there too is highly surprised that the bill is being condemned. They have all read it and seen that each state has more to gain against Lagos that has gained so much in the past. I haven't read it neither will I read it but I listened to a group who read it objectively and 'dispassionately'.

Fantastic, the North as a breeder of terrorist and the Almajiri should urgently reject the bill so their leaders can keep looting the fund. But If the Bill is rejected, President Tinubu should allow states to collect VAT themselves and pay tax to the FG, allow states to manage their resources and pay tax to the FG. This way it will be better, the military regime led by Agui Ironsi from SE put us on this evil part.

Says a coward from egocentric tribe that doesn't know who owns and controls the country. Tinubu can be impeached or dealt with and run away from the country if he goes beyond the boarder line. He is just and only the president. It is the loyalty of the populace that gives him that power, once that is removed or divided he becomes powerless.

The Kano state House of Assembly could reject The Tax reforms Bills presented before the National Assembly. They have the freedom to do so.

But their personal interests can't override national interest.

For years, the state and North by extension, has been parasiting on Nigerian state with their poor economies and resource management.

They're against alcohol sales in their states but shares from proceeds accruing from Vat taxes on same alcoholic drinks. Very unserious people.

They're now bringing ethnic dimension to the whole. Saying Igbo is under Yoruba control. This balderdash and silly. Igbos are uneducated to know the right thing?

Frigga and his cohorts should try another method.

They should accept the Tax reforms Bills or exit the federalism.

I'm not a fan of Tinubu but I support him 100% on this.

Ride on Tinubu!👏

Some of you are mentally lazy together with many political office holders. I can see that from the rubbish and misinformation you spewed about the tax reform bills. Many people even from the opposition parties are coming out to support the bills after having read what is contained there in. Am very happy for president Tinubu because he cannot be intimidated by falsehood peddlers in the North.
Here is what seriake Dickson, a member of opposition party said about the tax reform bills: Mr Dickson, a former governor of Bayelsa State, stated this while addressing journalists at the National Assembly on Monday.
“Forget about uproar, there will be no uproar. Public hearing is an opportunity for people to present their matters, and nobody is going to be intimidated by uproar,” the senator said.

The four tax reform bills passed second reading at the Senate on Thursday. They were referred to the Senate Committee on Finance chaired by Niger East Senator, Sani Musa, for further legislative action, including holding a public hearing.
In his submission, Mr Dickson, a PDP senator, said he supported the bills’ provisions because they are in the country’s interest.

He argued that if the National Assembly could pass the Petroleum Industry Act (PIA) prescribing three per cent statutory for host communities despite several criticisms from the people of Niger Delta region, that of the tax reform bills won’t be an exception.

“The PIA was passed. We wanted 10 per cent, which was what Yar’adua proposed. They (federal lawmakers) reduced it to three per cent. Heaven did not fall. This tax reform bills will pass and heavens will not fall,” he said.
VAT sharing formula
Mr Dickson said he is supporting the tax reform bills essentially because of the sharing formula of Value-Added Tax which prescribed that every consumption within the state will be paid to the state.

“The tax bill is a law like every other law and it has to go through the normal legislative process. Right now, taxes from Bayelsa State are paid to Lagos State and I don’t want that to continue. When there is consumption of any goods or services from any state it should be calculated and paid to that state.

“Now there is an opportunity to review the tax laws, to correct the anomalies and that’s why I’m in support,” he added
The senator urged those opposing the bills to present their positions during the public hearing.

“I know there are states that are feeling that when they apply the new sharing formula, they will earn less. It is for them to raise those issues and bring the statistics. I don’t go by sentiments. I go by what is right and in the national interest.”

While the bills have passed a second reading in the Senate and been sent to the finance committee, the House of Representatives is expected to commence legislative work on them on Tuesday.
Friga13 , you can continue to peddle misinformation and falsehood. We can see your fear. All what the tax reform bills is saying is that make your region conducive for investment. You can't continue breaking beer parlour shops and burning down betting shops in your region and you think you can partake in sharing formula coming from alcoholic drinks and betting companies.
If they like they shd continue to let banditry fester..bandits don't pay taxes and when it gets too much. no residents in the area will stay that means..no consumption and definitely. No tax for the state... if they need the army to act better they shd call for it....the terrorists are beginning to make the governors look powerless
