My first personal drive to the East was with the same Honda Civic, a fast and safe vehicle.

Hello everyone I am planning a journey to the east around 22/23/24 December (don't know which day is best yet)
Haven't chosen the date yet as i'm still observing security trends and first-hand experiences from people who have embarked on similar journey this month of December.

Ordinarily, I would have flown but e get as e be....

Although sometime ago (August/September) I completed similar trip to and fro without any hassle, but this time I am travelling with a sedan.

Will update as I gather more information and fix a travel date.

More details:

Vehicle- 2008 Honda civic 1.8L, 5speed A/T.
Estimated travel time- 13 hours.
Estimated travel distance- 580km.
No of occupants- 3.
Max speed- 100km/hr. I am not a speedster 😂 na jeje I dey go my thing.
Estimated time to leave Lagos: 4am
Expect time of arrival at Owerri: 4pm considering I don't run and race other cars and any delays 5pm.

Please help me take this to frontpage for wider discussions as I need proper first hand guide. I will keep updating as I make this trip with pictures and events till I arrive.
South east is so bubbling right now , everywhere good and out sons and family daughters far and wide are coming home for Christmas in their large numbers . Millions Igbo sons and daughters will come home for Christmas in the days to come to celebrate Christmas.

God has blessed the south east and more blessings will come the south east way . Bring your family along to have the Christmas experience in South east and come with enough money because "joints" go too full and many foods and drinks to eat.

God bless you . I am already in owerri for Christmas with my mom and family.

You're welcome and grant protect your journey.

Helinues, yarimo FreestuffsNG seunmsg, do you guys have village that you can comfortably travel to for Christmas because Lagos you guys claim to come will be empty as usual as the south east sons and daughters are begining to tavel home for Christmas ..

No my car is not CNG converted.

The car is 50ltrs on full tank which translates to 51,250 (NNPC) but give and take, it's gonna be a full tank which might not amount to that because surely there should be some petrol in the car before fill up. I will make a stop at Edo State to refill lost gasoline to fill up again which surely will take me home.
Great. Safe journey bro.
I saw this Christmas becoming one of the best even in the midst of these.
We in the East are already feeling the vibes.

Do not estimate your travel time it is in hands of fate and God,just do the right things and drive carefully,,there was a year I reached head bridge by 6 pm on 23 December and it was 10pm before I stepped down on the onitsha side, thankfully such experience will be extinct by now due to the second bridge
You no lie bros. But I am sure traffic won't be heavy this time around. God bless you

Smh. Ndi Owerri has started again.

Is it not strange to you that you believe that everyone who travels out of Lagos in December is from your tribe.

You have mixed your lack of integrity in keeping your words with ignorance.

You are not from Lagos, that is why you will not know that we usually tone down during the last days of December after a hectic productive year lifestyle to enjoy ourselves ahead of the new year so if we are not outside Nigeria holidaying, we are at home watching Yoruba films, enjoying great Yoruba music especially old classics like Ebenezer Obey, Sunny Ade, Shina Peters, Orlando Owoh, C.A.C Good Women Choir of Ibadan, Yinka Ayefele, Baba Ara, K1 etc and hosting parties with lots of food, drinks and gifts exchange with family and friends who have traveled even from overseas and we return such visits within our Lagos neighborhoods, adugbo and agbo ile. That's why our roads are free wink

Just as you highlighted above, move early at 80km/100km you will not have any problems.
Note: Ensure that your vehicle papers are updated and complete. Ensure that you don't have anything that will anger the police on the road.
Be polite to them police but don't give them shishi.
Please dress decently even if you don't dress decently before.
One of the occupants in your car should be ready to video any nonsense from the police discreetly.
Don't drink and drive. Keep the drinks until you reach Owerri. We can meet at Old English Bar and have some bottles.

You want to travel to the East and you are announcing it for what reason exactly? Due to the nature of my work, I travel in and out of the East at least 5times monthly, but you that just want to travel once has to put it on the internet to advertise the car you bought or the compound you live?

Anyway, not even sure you are Easterner because nothing reflects Igbo in your writing and there's no essence of the writing if not for clout chasing with the East

lolz. una funny shaa, we who have been living in the East are cool. Most of these unknown gunmen issues are in the interior villages. Funny enough, I was in Orlu for a few days last week and everywhere was cool. This unknown gunmen matters are more popular in newspapers than in real life over here. I even travel to port harcourt on Mondays
