I concur.
It should help propel states to see themselves as the next industrial hub from where goods sold all over ecowas and west africa is manufactured.
True that!

Let us avoid politicizing this discussion or introducing divisive narratives. This policy is not specific to Tinubu; it is a federal government initiative aimed at addressing the needs of all Nigerians. If we truly want meaningful contributions and constructive learning from this important topic, it is crucial to refrain from name-calling or assigning labels. If the policy is beneficial, let rational individuals support it based on its merits. Conversely, if someone opposes it, that does not imply they are against Tinubu's administration. It simply reflects a different perspective or understanding of the policy compared to its supporters.
Fair enough.

Do you support the tax reform. If yes why?

And if you are against the tax reform why?
I don't trust Tinubu and every single coming out from him. He doesn't care about the masses no matter how they try to package him or his policies

Anybody who doesn't support the wicked government automatically become obedient according to our happy Slave people.
I never said that sir, I am only responsible for my post, that you are triggerred by the word Obidient in it causing you to misinterpreted it, that one is solely on you.

Are there pockets of Obidients bitching about this Tax reform not based on its (de)merits but on the fact that President Tinubu defeated Peter Obi hands down at the elections, YES.

Does that suggest I meant anybody that doesn't support the bill is an (imbecilic) Obidient as you've inferred, NO.

Two reasons. Tbough I earn more than the 800k a year. (Meaning I will continue paying tax) It makes sense that people earning less will not be taxed going forward.

Second reason is. Most of the time when VAT stats are released it feels like Lagos generate most VATs, like other states are not trying to do much, mean while these other states are constitutionally shortchanged for Lagos.

It's a welcome development. It will also give a real insight of activities going on in the states. And the states will be richer.

It's an insult to a place like Imo to be said to have contributed meager N200m in VAT whereas most of the things consumed in the state were unjustly taxed by Lagos, Rivers and Oyo.

The proposed bill is fair. Very fair to all.

I see Ogun earning way more in VAT generation than it's presently doing. Same for other states with population and commercial activities.

The richer you are the more tax you pay. The poor pay absolutely no tax except VAT on purchased item which is not a bad idea.
you should have used Imo ves Anambra because Anambra has industries and Imo has almost none. Stop letting the hate of Lagos blind you.

You are certainly a paid agent. It's just too conspicuous.

aswani:
You are going to make some people hate it by supporting it. You should have tried reverse psychology on them.

Start posting about how you hate it and watch them fall over themselves about how great it is.

Having said that, a lot of Obidients are impressively positive about it. I nearly fainted reading AfonjaConehead's take on it yesterday.

[quote author=dumahi post=133142203]I DON'T SUPPORT IT

because

EVERYONE ABOVE ME SUPPORTS IT.

Most people here need to get an idea of what is in the tax bill first before saying anything on it.

What is inside the tax bill?

Please I cannot answer for what I have no ideal of what is the tax reform bill all about.

Okay but please can you let me know who is meant to be paying me so I can at least collect my money from them?

Your first point is subtle but very important.

The other two pale in significance.

I have learnt more on Nairaland over the past two days than I have ever since the elections.

There are still pockets of nuisance Obidients, bitching about Tax reforms because of election loss, all over the place but thankfully they are becoming easily identifiable.
can't you contribute to this topic in an intelligent way without turning everything to political banter ? Is that what you are only paid to do ?

If the pockets of Obidients that I am referring to don't stop being silly, why shouldn't I truthfully mention them?

Go through all the threads about Tax reform and read nonsense about what those few miscreants are saying.
