First Build

Purpose: To power an entire house
Configuration: 3s70p (210 x 18650 batteries)
Voltage: 11.1V
Connection:
Solar panel → Buck converter → PWM solar charge controller → Battery with 3s BMS → 3000W pure sine wave inverter.
Performance: Current cut off at 10.5V when powering a fan or a 12W bulb at night.
Status: Failed to meet its intended purpose.

Second Build

Configuration: 4s56p (224 batteries)
Voltage: 14.8V, 13.8 when powered.
BMS Cutoff: 10.5V
Observation: PWM solar charge controllers are not suitable for lithium batteries as they drain the battery instead of charging it.

Next Step:

Tomorrow, I will test the following setup to evaluate its success:
Solar panel → Buck converter → Battery with BMS → Inverter.

what size of solar panels are you charging them with, what is the maximum current you see in the charge controller in a day?

Yes I agree too. I use pwm to charge my 3s it's slow to recharge, but I charge my phone and USB fan till dawn and lose only 0.3-0.4v. (30ah 12.6v)

Most people don't BALANCE their set up properly before running as 3s.

If u just pick batteries without sorting and just combined them straight as 3s and charging them, such will fail same day.

My 3s48p (144 psc) can power a freezer conveniently.

Cable used for joining them is another big factor at 1s and 3s respectively.

The battery was able to hit 12.6 that full charge since buck converter was set to that.

18650s o I it was made for laptop power bank over the years because of its limitations I dumped it one side then this thread came I then reconfigure it to be using bms and added charge controller and small panel to it. Only small inverter remains.

I think it's more advantageous to use 4s than 3s.

I didn't use it in my 4S setup.
OV wire in BMS got burnt. Buck converter was set to 16v. The system failed around evening. BMS cutoff current. I had to disconnect before I saw the burnt wire. Charge in 4s packs are not equal. I will stop till my active balancer arrives then buck converter will be set to 14.8. Nothing more than that.
