We grew up with knicker but because Nigeria imitates both U.S. and UK, we mix them. Now we use shorts or pants, mainly American language.

Language evolves over time. Some Nigerian words are now adopted in the Oxford dictionary.

Are those words Nigerian words or not

They are not Nigerian, they are Yoruba. Go and argue with OED to remove all words there you don't like. At least they have their dictionary.

Calling it Nigerian English is stripping them of their identity, you're implying that the words are borrowed from English and I'm correcting you that those words existed pre colonial era. Akara in yoruba translate to the food we count to buy while moin-moin translate to the food that sticks to the teeth , as you can't eat moin-moin without the particles remaining in your teeth. Now tell me, how does this have anything to do with English?
