the cousin was born in uk to Nigerian parents who had papers. He came to live with them in 2005 and came with visit visa.

Permanent residency/ILR can be revoked.

My bad as I did not read the entire article. I just presumed the man has some sort of stable residency. Acquiring assets here and there in the abroad without a form of residence stability sounds odd to me. It reminds me of the Indians who were retrenched by tech firms but owned houses across the US. After the mass sack, they had only two months to get a new job or leave the US. Most resorted to selling those properties at below market rates and left the US.

Citizenship can be revoked.
The Brits did it to the ISIS girl, Begum.

Ordinary permanent residency. UK that rejected Shamima Begum that was born and raised in the UK would find it easy to deport someone on PR.
