Re: You Have No Right To Tint Your Vehicle's Glasses – Police Begin Enforcement by JuanDeDios: 10:19am On Dec 04, 2024
This can work. But not like this. The IGP should get the President to sign off on it, then announce a nationwide ban on tinted glasses and begin enforcement, making it clear there will be no exceptions.

shortgun:
But I have a tint permit from the police. Issued from the office of a serving AIG.
Na court go settle us las las
Pls don't present that tint permit to any officer so you don't get caught up by law of forgery.
Most people are not aware, tint permit has been stopped for some years now, so immediately an officer request for your tint permit and you present one, he knows it's fake, even though you got it from one of them.

Oh God. What!

Hey, Father. How did we get here?

So, tinted vehicles are now fueling insurity.

Police should please do their job.

Where's intelligence gathering?

This is very unintelligent abeg.

People that want to commit crime can still use either tinted/non tinted regardless.

The Best way to go by the Nigerian Police Authority.
For example,Some Nigerians that can't obey simple Rules on Tainted Glasses, will obey a more striker rules,I'm just wandering,o?
The Police Authorities themselves, should equally watch their workers/ Staff as they contributed to many lawlessness in Nigeria,e.g detaining NIGERIANS unnecessarily, when you know, you just want to frustrate them,to give you unsolicited support,in Cash and Kind!
Is that fair?

No one has the right to tint? Is this about rights? . or about the law? .. law enforcement? Doesn't the Police give tint permit? .. or is he also saying they don't have the right to? Instead of warning and threatening the public he should be warning his men and taking measures to ensure only qualified people get permits and they have the tools to enforce the law. If not.... he just opened the door wider for his men to extort drivers.

They've been checking and every time they confirm it's authentic.
You can't issue me an official document and turn around to say it's fake.
VIO tried that nonsense with me sometime ago and later regretted it.

Just the way EFCC has started clamping down on people spraying money and making them pay fine in order to meet target, now police wants to use tinted glass to do their own

Their wahala does not cover factory tinted glasses . In other countries, there is a permissible degree of tint . If it is darker you are fined and asked to remove it . I understand the level of insecurity is high , but the police have to be much proactive by ensuring compliance . Most Nigerians with tints will rather settle and after a while pressure from powerful people will make the CP soft pedal
After collecting money from people to issue a permit for the same tinted glasses? Will the police refund the money they collected?
Re: You Have No Right To Tint Your Vehicle's Glasses – Police Begin Enforcement by doncartel: 11:40am On Dec 04, 2024
At least 60% of cars are tinted in Abuja and some other cities. I think it’s because of the heavy sunshine.

At the same time you can imagine the number of ritual killers and kidnappers using them.

There is a legitimate reason to tint and that is the harsh sunlight. Tinting provides decent relief from the harsh glare. It shouldn't be illegal, control it but not ban it. That's throwing away the baby with the bath water.
