The lawyer for Nigerian musician Darlington Okoye, better known by his stage name Speed Darlington or Akpi, Stan Alieke, has voiced his worries about his client’s recent re-arrest.

It is noteworthy that the contentious individual was reportedly performing at an event when he was captured by police in Owerri, Imo State.

As of the time of this report, it is unknown what specifically led to the singer’s detention. Claims, however, point to a link to Burna Boy, the Afrobeats sensation.

In a recent post on social media, Stan Alieke indicated that December 3 marks the seventh day of Akpi’s detention by the police.
He further disclosed that the Nigerian police have denied his client bail, asserting that they are infringing upon Speed’s constitutional rights.
