Frigga13:Who is Fayose? That one is a second class politician of 1999 structure. Obasanjo never had any problem with Orji Uzo Kalu until the third term agenda. Orji Uzor Kalu single handedly sponsored OBJ's presidency with the help of PDP. |

MadamExcellency:This same bill Alamesiya said Obasanjo approved in 2000? Even the screenshot you shared was NDDC bill and it was in June after the sharing revenue already passed earlier.

LegendHero:He did not sign the final outcome of the bill. Don't you understand what it meant when the president vetoes a bill and send it back to the NASS? OBJ wanted to kill the bill but Ghali N'Abba and Chuba Okadigbo mustered two-third majority in each chamber to override his veto and pass it into law. I was privy to what happened then and I don't need internet to tell the story. |

MadamExcellency:See below is how they voted on NDDC bill. “Out of the 306 members that attended the House sitting Thursday, 302 voted 'yes', one 'No', while the remaining three abstained from the voting conducted by the Clerk of the House, Mr. O. Ogunjimi.”Almost all the rep voted Yes and that is just the NDDC which is a bill. It is difference entirely form the 13% derivatives which is another thing. Revenue allocation formulae is different from NDDC act. |

Frigga13:Which Yoruba publicly supported 3rd term agenda of Obasanjo, during his second term. Mention one. You're comparing national tax reform with personal ambition of Obasanjo. |

LegendHero:Kudos to our senators from south south, we have moved from emotional politics to development and practical one, no matter party differences. Only fools will go against the bill in Southern Nigeria. Let south west and south east join too. The north can't be benefiting from what the have been banning and destroying. To igbos even if you don't like the face of the president, don't throw away the baby with the bath water. |

[quote author=SalamRushdie post=133176923]South South senator support is what we term Trojan support , they need this bill to passed so they have a valid claim to immediately start demanding for 60 percent oil derivation..[/quote Continue with high expectations without reading the documents. The 60% derivation sharing fomular is for VAT revenue. And VAT is consumption tax, not production tax. SS can seek, more percentage of oil royalties(production),money,But always know the issues at stake before making noise. For me SS already is requesting for all of oil revenue,so nothing new. Justification, legality and how to realise it are the hurdles to cross. |

dumahi:The 3rd south won't be happy about this.....anytime tinubu gets the support of the SS on anything,it eats them up from the inside. |

Beremx:you this ipob member self, anything that will make you people get Biafra is what you want. You people goes nowhere cos Aguyi Ironsi and Ojukwu killed many members of Isaac Boro and jailed him too for clamouring for niger delta republic. If he was allowed, we in south south would have been enjoying our God given Oil but those two stupid fools believe in one Nigeria then, just because they were in control of power. What is good for goose is good for gander also. Because no Igbo president since after Aguyi Ironsi, you people now know of separation. If Obi has won last year, we would not have heard Biafra again. Criminals. That is why we south south can't join you people to fight the government or to get Biafra republic. |

Let the southern Nigeria senators too stand their ground and support the tax reform bill. You can't be collecting from the south and be given to the north use your resources for your development |

Lithiumite:He’s the President.. no one underestimates the President You heard what Zulum said … “ we know he can have his way” then after that we have our way. As for now that bill is suspended till further notice That’s from the council of state and his economic team .. and if he so chooses to call their bluff.. he’s the President he should enjoy |
