Pastor And Wife Receive 10-Year Sentence For ₦‎52 Million Church Fraud by voiceoftheupcom(op): 7:55pm On Dec 05, 2024
Pastor Harry Uyanwanne and his wife, Kristen, have been sentenced to 10 years in prison by the Ikeja Special Offences Court for embezzling N52 million through their church, Temple International Church. Eyes Of Lagos reports,

In the judgment delivered on Wednesday, Justice Mojisola Dada found the couple guilty on seven charges of fraud and theft brought by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). The court also ordered the deregistration and permanent closure of their church.

The charges, filed by the EFCC in February 2020, revealed that the couple misappropriated N10 million belonging to a deceased woman, Mrs. Adeola Odemuyiwa. They also sold a property in Magodo, Lagos, for N42 million under false pretenses, claiming Pastor Harry had authorization to execute the sale.

Justice Dada sentenced Pastor Harry to three years for the first charge and seven years for charges two through six, with the terms to run concurrently. Kristen was acquitted on the seventh charge. The court also ordered the couple to repay N31 million to the complainant within 60 days.

The EFCC argued that their actions violated provisions of the 2006 Advance Fee Fraud Act and the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.

This case underscores growing efforts to address financial misconduct among religious leaders.

Every Nigerian is a born criminal regardless of tribe, position, religion and sex. The citizens aren’t different from their leaders. That’s why there’s no good leader coming from the citizens. The difference between you and the current criminals in government is lack of opportunity.

The ones in government knows that, they know that give another Nigerian the opportunity of occupying their current political position, the newbie will steal more than them, so that’s why no Nigeria feels pity while slaughtering the national cow of Nigeria’s economy.

Don’t think you’re an exception, until you test yourself with absolute power and money. Even the pope is not an exception.

So Nigeria concern when electing a leader should be, looking for the lesser thief and put in government, and not a saint. Because there’s none. Every Nigerian is a born criminal,

Ask yourself, why haven’t Nigerians clamour for a law that

If you’re found guilty of stealing public funds, you’ll be executed on national Tv, whether you’re a former head of state, governor, senator or minister or even pastor , as long you occupy public office.

No Nigeria want that type of law because we all have intention of stealing once our turn reach.

I’m talking about Nigeria, because of those that will attack their father, make ogun no kee you

If the Nigeria system is balanced, nonselective and transparently working well, more of this shrines that were turned into churches will be shut down.
And some of these Daddy G.O's will get far above a 10 year sentence.

If your wife is running after pastor, you are closed to getting divorce than building happy home. Don't be surprised when she alleged a member of your household as having a witchcraft. What those pastors cannot destroyed doesn't exist.

it’s not donation , although the details was not stated in this report but I think they are in charge of woman private estate or will , so it’s embezzlement case and not about church offering or funds or voluntary donation

If a person does the crime, he or she should do the time.

He should make the best of his new address for the next seven years.

did you read the report or you don’t understand what you read , it was a dealing outside church affairs, like overseeing the woman estate and private funds and in the process misbehave, fraud case in relation to an individual, and not church donation

Above Comments will tell you why this country is like this
without reading the whole story and understanding it...
Nigerians who i assume to be youths ... Don dey call
Other Gods of men from the other tribe ....just because the name of the pastor tells them that he might be from their tribe
People that can easily take sides with their crazy keke and okada riders just because they are inside without considering the truth in anyway are terrible human beings

The worst is that this people are always pointing to others like the Police and the Politicians as been the problem of this country without thinking of the effect of their little daily actions contribute to a toxic society without values
