Good day, fellas. I have come to realize that those who do eye service or are hypocritical with their jobs are more regarded than those who sincerely or faithful do their jobs. i.e They easily get promoted or rewarded
That's part of what is called Office Politics.

If you don't know how to play office politics, you'll already be unhappy with your work environment cos you'll be putting in your best while others will be getting the best out of the job and you'll keep getting hit by your bosses.

Someone raised an observation about human nature you are castigating Yorubas alone

'Eye service' in the work place always deliver the undesired price to the actors at the end of their script.

I have seen numerous machine operators get disfigured by the same machines they've been operating over the years.

I have seen safety officers suffer severe burn from a fire they're trying to put out.

I have read a report by an office assistant that got her boss in the office 'human resource manager' sacked accidentally.

I have seen production manager get fired for producing 'out of order' (pricey) spec in large quantity and so many more.

So, whenever I noticed someone engaging in 'eye service' to please expatriates or bosses, I always have one phrase for them.

"Be calming down".

Because even the owner of the business no go send you when e happen.

Not really true. A smart employer will even know if you’re doing eye service and just watch you fool yourself

Just in case you don’t know, they can sense if you’re an ass kisser
You are so on point at the bolded.

Many of these bosses have many years of work place experience and may have seen many people with such similar instinct before.

Sometime, appearance shows the manners, nobody see your heart, they only judge you by what you do in their present.

As an employer, you don't expect me to ignore someone who do well in my present and promote you that don't but do so behind my back. How do you want me to know? You just have to be good in both my present and my absent.
What if I'm extremely extremely good in what I do for the organisation and beyond, and I'm very effective and efficient.
But I won't come to work on weekends because it's not in my job description, even if you request we come or stay beyond work hours if it won't reflect in my pay
Or or I won't kowtow to you.
Would you approve such person for promotion or retainment or you will just go with an asslicker

This is a lie.

Igbo men are generally over confident and behave as though they can get another job anytime. This attitude usually gets them in trouble sooner or later

They are not known to greet their bosses "good morning" three times before noon

I'm not tribalistic, but trust me. Igbo people are more prone to eye service in workplace than any other counterpart I've ever worked with.

Exactly, the average yoruba will greet you 5 times before the work closes and that can be extremely irritating

stop talking tribal bullshit, this is the case world wide,, so long as you talking about a cooperate environment, eye service is the law world wide.

Young people need to know that working for yourself should be your ultimate priority, the cooperate world is designed such that only those who knew from 3 years old that they can sell their mother belong in cooperate world .

Our world is a satanic world that promotes evil competition, the type of competition where you have to destroy other to get ahead, and by winning such a game you loos your soul.

The cooperate world is designed to take peoples soul should you decide to play the game.

Get yourself the most affordable accommodation and lifestyle you can manage and work alone till you have a meaningful career.

You need all the money from your youth to help you as health slowly becomes an issue to your ability to earn money starting roughly around 45 years old. If you are not a bastard you will have nothing to show for it by 45 in cooperate world just disgust at humanity.

left at 40 due to back pain and disgust at cooperate world in Europe, cut down my standard of living drastically and sort myself a new career working alone from home.

Dont go to cooperate world if you not a devil, the devils know themselves from as young as 3 years old.
If you are normal human being the cooperate world will steal your youth and leave you nothing to fend for yourself as you age and health wains.

All things considered the level of nasty behaviour in cooperate world means its a rip off for any non devils to have anything to do with it.

The cooperate world is deliberate encourages mutual hostility so that the mutual hatred generated between people can be food for demons that are plenty in those glass offices.

While you put on your suit and drive your fancy car to work and plot your office battle strategies the last thing on your mind is that your work is turning the hatred in your mind into food for demons.

There is nothing wrong with cooperate world, its a place for bastards only to go sell their soul and become food for demons, cause all youll learn from cooperate world is how to hate people.

Stay away from there its a raw deal for normal people, and will leave you destitute in old age.

We live in a world where evil is actively promoted and encouraged and this has stained everywhere where people gather to do things together , dont expect gatherings of people in an evil world to be what you expect until law and order is restored to the world. At this time we live in a world with no law and order.

Currently the wicked are rewarded and the good and punished. Leave and dont play their game, cause the winner of their game will loose his soul, to become a professional sellout.

You know about the small year 365 days, but there is also the great year 25000 years both are measured using stars.
Archaeologists were amazed at what greet lengths ancient world went to make sure they can measure the 25000 great year which eventually resulted in the mayan calendar.

The ancient world went through great lengths to measure the great year and its spiritual seasons cause they know a season comes where every human body starts to take the shape of the soul inside, a season where you can no longer hide your true character inside cause its written all over your shape, to this somone said it will be like a scene form star wars bar scene

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vDpDhofRoXA

That is what the cooperate world wants to turn you into , they designed the cooperate world for this.
They dont really need your labour just your soul.
The day cooperate world actually needs labour rather than souls, the rules of engagement will change.

Your glass office is a fruit garden for demons that feed on hatred between people

Sorry bro... It's very common in yoruba led work environment.... Yoruba managers and bosses love those who worship the ground they step on...they love asslickers so much and they reward them... It's evident in their larger society... that's how they worship their useless and corrupt political leaders.

If you have never experienced it just go out and do basic research
I have always said something. You people keep laying allegations against us as if you are the angels and we are the devil. But when we get tired of this and say 'oya, angel, go back to your land of angels and leave us alone to our shithole', you start crying again. Make unna leave our land make unna go since we are evil na! Abi na by force ni?

On this topic, I don't think its black or white.
I think a person should be sensible and realistic.
Personally, I'm not an eye service kind of person, but at the same time, I'm realistic enough to know I have to do a bit of it to get far in my career.
You must be a "team-player". I'm not corrupt, but neither am I a puritan.

In general, don't be out of place, else you will booted out of the place.

You've somehow said there is a possibility of having a middle ground between darkness and no darkness.
This is your person, don't try to validate it by preaching it as a survival strategy that everyone must imbibe, you are either corrupt or not, you are either a pretender or not, nothing like mixing, it is not beer mixing, you are not in a bar.

Office Politics is one of the courses taught in some organisations now. Hard skills is never enough.

See, you have to acquire emotional intelligence by nurture and use it to your strategic advantage.

It is not hypocrisy or eye service as you call it. Humans are social beings so you need to learn how to connect with people. Relationship is key.

Being good at what you do is great but dedication at work place matters alot to Nigerian employers. While I will condemn any employer who ask you to come on weekends or spend extra hours withiout overtime payment, it is important to note that if once in awhile your job requires you to work on weekend or stay extra hours, you can just do that to get what you want, especially where such attribute is often taking as a stepping stone for promotion.

Once you reach the pinnacle of your career, no employer will treat you that way. Infact, they will be the ones begging you to accept your own term. You can't just get to that point withiout alot of sacrifices that will looks like exploitation. Those you called asslickers understand this concept, they knew you have to sacrifice alot to get to the top of their career( especially if you are a man).
