On the issue of Netflix i want to use this medium to commend the yourba directors and actors we have out here.

Omoh you guys are trying and bring out the best to explain your culture, tradition expecially from history perspective.

Netflix coming into the picture brings another different spice to make it more epic..

From jagun jagun to aluwampawo to others..

You don't see elder state men shouting at kings like my igbo brothers kingsmen or the usual prince marrying a poor village girl to a poor man marrying a rich man storyline ( most directors who don't do proper research on a ethnicity's and tribe always casting movies that doesn't actually represent the customs and traditions of a tribe)

The west is actual sharpening the Nollywood industry not to sideline the north.. expecially that film called THE KING OF CALIPHATE... the north did Justice to the film explaining deep into the corruption and political saga in Nigeria..

On my igbo side... Amafuana was a hit showing us the grass to grace of a sales boy expecially in Nigeria and how it plays to serve.. it showed the customs of how most igbo big business men were groomed.

I think Nollywood is getting it right with this new innovations explaining our customs, traditions and uniqueness of our individual tribe, ethnicity's and race as Nigerians..
The beauty of what makes us uniquely unique as tribe

I believe Netflix saw this potential and they won't even think of packing out from Nigeria because of the potentials we exhibit and the creativity.

Netflix is going no where and it's here to stay and harvest the potentials we have as Nigerians.

In future years to come, i hope we innovate our film industry to doing more tech inclined science fiction films as the west.

Nigeria is blessed

Nigeria is blessed
so much delusions in one post.

Let me break it for you. When Netflix came to Nigeria, they knew what they wanted. They wanted the traditional nollywood that is popular across Africa and the Caribbean. This was why Genevieve's Lionheart was the first movie they bought.

But as usual, ronu people besieged Netflix and the airwaves with blackmail about how traditional nollywood is the "old nollywood" and "Asaba movies" are low quality and poor. Before we knew it, they hijacked Netflix with so much hype and over rating around each movie they produced on the platform and chasing after awards despite apparent poor storytelling and having less that 3% of nollywood fans on the platform.

The main traditional nollywood base remained in YouTube and paytv platforms like DSTV and Startimes.

With time Netflix realized that the overated and overhyped movies churned out for them by your brothers couldn't earn them more subscription.

Today, every major actor is a producer on YouTube and they are making billions from it. Visit One and Two channels, Uche Nancy and Frederick Leonard, Ruth Kadiri and many other channels taking in millions of viewers and making money.

Lies don't build an industry.

They have left means they no longer invest in Netflix original in Nigeria the same way Amazon prime left. Below was my comment in January when Amazon prime left.

It is those foolish obidots that spread fake news in their WhatsApp group and many of them are not smart enough to verify authenticity before they spread it around. Very brainwashed set of people without thinking faculty of their own. Whatever they dump in their heads is what they drop around.

What a menace to our society
