Guinea does not pay colonial tax to France, unless it has recently been introduced.
What about Central African Republic, Congo and Gabon?

Flesh & blood has not revealed this to you. grin Few hours ago I was venting about this same issue. I’ve been feeling super upset since 2-3 days ago, when I learned that there is something called “Crown Lands” in Kenya. The nerve these Europeans have is something that should be considered for a study.
Apparently, there are some parts of Kenya today that are considered to be under the jurisdiction of England. The Kenyan government cannot tax these land owners because they don’t even have title deeds & they own 10,000 hectares or more. The land is passed down from one generation to another.
Britain has an army base & those soldiers have been raping women in the area. When the Kenyan government tried to intervene, Boris Johnson who was then Foreign affairs minister flew into Kenya fast. When the British commit crimes in Africa, they are extradited to their country to be tried there. When Africans commit crimes in England & fly home, their governments send them back to England for trial.
By the way what is this devilish thing they call, The Commonwealth countries? It’s an extension of colonialism. Africa received fake independence. Attempts to break those agreements will end up in sanctions. Until we have leaders who will be willing to teach the West that we are not their puppets, this nonsense will continue, while the indigenes of our countries have no land to call their own.

Nigeria also still pays colonial tax in the form of weird contracts with British and American oil/mining companies.
if they leave you alone can you mine or process these resources without forming siutecase companies backed by their technical expertise? Just because they are your former colonial master and mined under colonial rule doesn't mean they dont merit having oil companies around. We haven't been able to process cocoa that's on the surface and soft, it is oil we want to process? Just look at our refineries and steel plants, how well are we running them?

2. Let’s assume it’s ChatGPT generated article, who says AI doesn’t know anything happened less than two years ago? May you’re using free version.

3. They collect the tax easily as these countries don’t have their own central banks, they use only central bank which is domiciled in France.

Re: 10 African Countries Still Paying Colonial Tax by franvincoop: 9:53am On Dec 06, 2024
The CFA is pegged to the Euro through the French treasury as France uses the Euro, b4 the advent of the euro it was pegged to the French franc.
Note that there are two CFA.
The West African cfa (XOF) and the Central african cfa(XAF).
The pegging to the Euro is the reason why the cfa is a stable currency because no one country can wake up one morning and decide to devalue the currency as Tpain has done with the Naira.
Also the West African cfa is more vulnerable than the Central African cfa because in West Africa you have ECOWAS which is only an economic union while in Central Africa you have CEMAC which is both an economic and "monetary" union.

1 euro is 656 xaf
1 euro is 652 xof

Point#3 is not completely accurate.
Google BEAC bank.
It's better than CBN where Baba go slow and Goddy can decide unilaterally to add more color to the Naira note or use 18 billion to print 1 billion.
We wey get CBN, no be na for Sweden dem dey print naira?

France imposed conditions on its colonies before granting them independence, particularly in Africa. These agreements, often referred to as the “Colonial Pact,” established France’s control over various aspects of the newly independent nations. While the specifics varied by country, the general conditions included:

1. Monetary Control: Colonies had to adopt the CFA franc, with reserves controlled by the French Treasury.
2. Military Presence: France maintained military bases and could intervene militarily.
3. Economic Dependency: Colonies were required to prioritize trade with France, restricting access to other markets.
4. Natural Resource Exploitation: France retained control over key resources like oil, gas, and minerals.
5. Education System: The French education system and language were maintained to influence culture and governance.
6. Exclusive Trade Agreements: Former colonies could only import and export goods through France.
7. Tax Obligations: A portion of national revenue was remitted to France.
8. Defense Agreements: France controlled defense policies and decision-making in case of threats.
9. French Contractors: Public contracts were awarded primarily to French companies.
10. French Control over Currency Printing: The CFA franc could only be printed in France.
11. Customs and Tariff Policies: France dictated import/export tariffs.
12. Intellectual Property Control: Patents and knowledge rights were often retained by France.
13. Political Alliance: Colonies aligned with France in international politics.
14. Permanent French Advisors: Key ministries, such as defense, finance, and education, had French advisors embedded.

These conditions ensured France’s continued economic and political dominance over its former colonies, creating a system often criticized as “neocolonialism.”

The six former French colonies in Africa that do not use the CFA Franc have adopted their own currencies or other monetary systems:

1. Mauritania - Ouguiya (MRU)
2. Morocco - Moroccan Dirham (MAD)
3. Algeria - Algerian Dinar (DZD)
4. Tunisia - Tunisian Dinar (TND)
5. Djibouti - Djiboutian Franc (DJF)
6. Madagascar - Malagasy Ariary (MGA)

These countries either established their currencies upon gaining independence or transitioned away from the CFA Franc over time.

Four African countries—Niger, Mali, Burkina Faso, and most recently Chad—have terminated various military and political agreements with France to join Algeria and Tunisia in the league This shift is largely driven by concerns over sovereignty and dissatisfaction with French influence, particularly in the Sahel region. These nations have expelled French troops, withdrawn from French-aligned organizations, and sought alternative alliances with countries like Russia and Turkey.

These still leave 14 docile African countries out of the 20 that still maintain complete or partial colonial pact (Slavery) with leeching France. cool
Thanks for the insight, very helpful

Forget that one. Nigeria is not paying any Tax to foreign government. Our case is pure corruption in display, man. It's our elites that chose to swindle us and partner with the West in the form of contracts.

Honestly speaking, Nigeria's independence from Britain in 1960 was one of the best separation that ever happened. We literally pursued Britain from our soil, and they sheepishly agreed because of the intense struggle and pressure from our learned heroes like the Ziks, Awos, Enahoro, and Macauley etc, of blessed memories.

A lot of scholars still believed Nigeria later misbehaved after Independence because we got it on a platter of gold without a war with Britain. So, we went ahead gallivanting and lavished our resources and stole them to foreign lands. You don't value what you have especially when you got it free of charge- FOC. This the perfect description of Nigeria's case, coupled with faulty foundations laid by the colonial masters.
