Really?
That’s crazy then.
So have you been able to book appointment now?

kushercain:
I had this issue too. Paid on the 8th with online transfer but up till now, still nothing. I had to make another payment directly via firstbank over-the-counter deposit and it reflected the next day. I will advice you don't make payments on Friday because the deposit slip won't be valid over the weekend. I think that was where the issue came from. Hope they rectify it asap
Re: Usa Visit Visa Part 5 by Ebrandt: 1:07am On Dec 07, 2024
This is actually quite frustrating.
At this point, I’m just relying on some luck tbh. Sigh!

petershola:
I'm a little worried because this is a direct card payment not bank transfer. Many have paid directly after that so im afraid something might just be wrong.

Please guys, I want to make another payment to get a closer date. I intend to use a new email, new ds-160 form too. My question is; the part where I'll be asked if I've applied before, can I choose no? So that I'll have a new profile.
Please help.
No guarantee you will her a nearer date. Why waste resources? Have you used up your rescheduling slots?

Hello House,

I know there is some level of uncertainty around the process these days but I would like to ask what the process is for retrieving back one's passport after Visa approval. I can see OIS page where one can put in details for this person it says "passport not ready for pick up", I also see the CEAC page for tracking. I just want to know if there is someplace we are to schedule an appointment now or soon after the status changes to issued or ready for pick up. The applicant chose DHL in VI as pick-up location when applying for the visa appointment. I would appreciate a list of next steps to be able to get the passport as soon as it is ready and to be sure we are not missing any important step.

Thanks & God bless.

[I paid for passport delivery three weeks ago and even booked an appointment for pickup at the DHL office. However, when I arrived, they couldn't find any record of it in their system. I also couldn't track my passport, and DHL wasn't able to track it either.]

Re: Usa Visit Visa Part 5 by Gbanis: 5:03pm On Dec 08, 2024
My current situation, paid visa fee via GTB June 2024, created a profile but didn't schedule and appointment, hopping for closer dates then migration to the portal happened. I tried countless times to log into my profile with no luck. (Response: "User inactive"wink. So I went ahead to create another profile with a different email in September, still unable to schedule an appointment with it. Response: "invalid receipt"
Raised several tickets on Avits stating my case with screen shots and visa fee receipt, yet no response. Made calls too, no head way.
2nd of November an activation email arrives for my first profile from the old portal asking me to activate and change password. I clicked on the activation link, then I changed my password successfully. Tried to log in afterwards but still getting same old response "User inactive". It's been more than one month after the activation (so I thought) but still can't log in. Tickets raised on Avits on the other hand are still unanswered. I am very frustrated at this point. Please what could I be doing wrong? Why am I still getting this "user inactive" response? Do I have 2 profiles? What do I do at this point?
PLEASE HELP! Any one faced same challenge?
Re: Usa Visit Visa Part 5 by RoyV: 8:45pm On Dec 08, 2024

Hello everyone, Thank you for your continual help here. I have a question, please.
I tried scheduling a date from available dates but anytime I click on the green dates which I believe are the available ones, it doesn't move past the page. It just loads and no changes. It does that for any date I select. Am I missing something or is there an AVITS glitch? Please help!

As you clicked on any date, it will show you the available time.. stroll up your page or stroll it down... It will show different times available and you choose one. It has happened to me before infact I was so frustrated that day.

Update!!!!!

My dad's visa interview done and granted this morning.
I was still hoping to get a closer date for his appointment as I was only seeing Jan 2026 and earliest May 2025, so I waited patiently only to receive a mail from the consulate last Monday that an appointment has been scheduled for him for today. I was surprised but then remembered I had sent several mails to them that I have been unable to schedule an appointment due to the GTB receipt issue.
I told my dad about it and he went with the printed email inviting him for the appointment, alongside other documents of course
Long story cut short, appointment was quick and done within an hour.
Again, I don't know if this is the norm or He was just lucky but, all what I did is in the quoted below for those in similar situation with their GTB receipt.
Good luck to everyone

harleybee:
Hi all

I'm back after over 2 months

For some reason, the receipt from GTB has finally been accepted.
For all those who have tagged me asking for update e.g @yomifola, @hephzibahjay, @RoyV. I have been able to proceed to appointment booking finally this evening after making payment in August before change in service provider. However, only seeing dates from January 2026.
What I did so far:
I raised several tickets discussing my concerns, made phone calls, had several chats, sent emails to Lagos consulate, so I don't know which one eventually worked out. If you are in similar condition, attach your receipt, screen munch whatever error is showing that is not allowing you proceed, raise a ticket and attach them, also do same and send as email to consulate office for either Lagos or Abuja.
Re: Usa Visit Visa Part 5 by cretin: 12:33pm On Dec 09, 2024
So yet again engaged avits on chat, for missed IW appointment and the agent claimed that i should upload my gt bank receipt on my account and not just ref number

I told the agent, there is no such room for apart, from on a ticket, and agent insisted that there is, that uploading on ticket will not help me.

So am asking if anyone has seen where one can upload the old gt bank receipt on ones profile on avits?

Good day Everyone,
I should have given this update since last week but I have been overwhelmed with stuff.
For those who paid using GTBank on the old portal, please just be patient as I am pretty certain you'll be attended to.
Don't bother raising a ticket on the AVITS portal as its a waste of time and chances are that your issue won't be resolved as their website has not been configured to accept GTBank receipts. Since this can only be done manually, please send a mail to LagosNIV@state.gov. I've attached a sample of mine and blurred my details. I also copied nigeria@usvisaappt.com
Once you've done that, please wait for a response. Sending the mail multiple times only delays your response time....a reliable source confirmed this.
I sent a mail on the 27th of November attaching my details, and I received a response on the 29th of November, that I had been scheduled for an interview for the 5th of December at xyz time. I simply followed the instructions on the mail sent and I had no problem at all when I got to the embassy. The mail served as my appointment letter.
I hope this helps someone out. May all our genuine efforts be met with success.

THANK YOU FOR THE UPDATE, THIS SOMEWHAT RESONATES WITH WHAT I think is happening to me, however I have sent 2 mails to the abujaconsulate, the first mail they responded within 12hrs, that AVITS claims to have resolved the issue with the gt bank receipt, that I should revert if am still unsuccessful...i checked, issue persists, so I mailed them with screenshots and reattached a copy of the GT payment receipt......they are yet to respond, over 2weeks ago. then last wk..i still sent them mail..reattaching the same gt receipt and naratting my issue again...still zero response....ticket on avits in on hold, chatted them over 5x, nothing tangible

my tayad is really tayad...,

Hello everyone. Please my parents are trying to interview for a visiting visa but they were unable to secure the same date for interview and have used up all rescheduling slots.
Is it advisable for them to go separately or are the chances of approval higher if they go together?

I got a date for Feb 2025 ( Because I paid for new MRV) however I paid to GTBank as well, it was because I didn't get the link that I now paid another one , however I have been trying to get a closer date , should I send the email to get a date using my GTbank payment? Please does anyone know how to resolve this:

I started a DS160 application around January this year. I didn’t complete it, hence I didn’t submit or downloaded it.

I tried to retrieve it this week to conclude since I have gotten a date but I got the message “no matching data found.”

The problem now is I used the application ID on that incomplete DS160 to schedule an appointment.

Does anyone know how I can resolve this?

PS: I know I can create a new DS160 profile. But my concern is how to update my current appointment document to reflect the new DS160 number

I will appreciate any help or insight please. Thanks 🙏

Hi everyone I have a slight issue and its not related to visit visa but wanted to post it here as I could not find another relevant group

I did my H1b visa interview Dec 5 and was approved, I found out from the VO I made a mistake in the day of my date of birth but she corrected it. I checked https://ceac.state.gov/CEACStatTracker/Status.aspx?App=NIV and my passport still says Approved but not issued. It's been 5 days and was wondering how long it usually takes to get the passport back as I have a flight on Friday. Can any one pleas let me know if they have any idea and if they did their interview on the 5th too and if they have gotten their passport. Thank you
