Kudos to NAFDAC on this!

They should never allow themselves to get intimidated by those evil traders who make money at the expense of other people's lives. In the coming days and months, those evil traders would try to sponsor media and political pressures to circumvent justice but NAFDAC must remain resolute and ensure they carry out the enforcement activities to the fullest.

Another aspect NAFDAC need to intensify efforts is the inspection of hospital pharmacies! A lot of illegalities are currently going in both government-owned and private hospital pharmacies. It is very embarrassing that Nigerians can't even receive quality medications when they go to hospitals and this is due largely to mismanagement and quality compromise by medical doctors who often usurp the responsibilities of hospital Pharmacists even with their poor knowledge of drugs. NAFDAC seriously need to beam their searchlights in these hospitals!

NAFDAC must continue to safeguard the health of Nigerians!

I don't understand the wisdom behind this ban, though I don't drink such.
They are more concerned about the quantity of the bottled product than fighting fake/substandard product.
So a manufacturer can package the same substandard product in bigger bottles and sell without hassles.

Giving room to fake products and people consuming these things to react badly on our system.

If care is not taking, some people will begin to produce AZUL in sachets and sell.

I don't understand, what exactly is the issue, is it that 200ml is too small for an individual and NAFDAC wants people to consume more?

No. The 200ml is more expensive and not easily accessible and affordable like those in sachets.

It will mean less people consuming alcohol recklessly.

I don't agree.

Using tombo bitters as an example.

The sachet drink is hard.

But the main bottle is mild.

Did you read the reasons Buhari gave for the ban? Muslim youths, elderlies and girls were heavily into it. It's easy to hide especially in bukar.

Those satchet drinks are grade1 poison.

I support this ban in its entirety .

First of all am an ABA boy, and I know what goes on around cemetery hard line.
Also bori camp used to be another den for this fake drinks production back then, I don't know about now.

Alcohol is supposed to make you tipsy and sleep off, this knockoff drinks only do the opposite.
This drinks also make you addicted, as in nicotine type of addiction.

Finally I used to run a bar b4 the COVID era and I always had low sales even though I sold in tots and very cheap

I did a simple analysis, I bought a bottle of captain Jack measured in ml and a sachet and measured in ml, sachet was way cheaper and stronger same for almost bitters.

Now we know if we are buying something in quantity we suppose to buy it cheaper,in this case it was different.

Alcohol is not cheap and those things they sell in satchet can't be that cheap, except one thing ,it is not alcohol.

I was once hooked on cheap captain Jack, and anytime I belched it smelt like roasted meat, guess what was going.

You are right .
My Liver.

Satchet drinks should be banned, not only are they a health concern, they also offer safety concerns to drivers, security concerns to armed persons and finally environmental concerns because the containers are not biodegradable.
