emkz:Dele accused Babalola. He should give evidences and must be ready to defend all the allegations in court. I heard Dele was asked to appear on court but he refused because according to him he committed the crime in Lagos;why Ekiti? Dele should have gone to court and seek for the transfer of the case to Lagos. I think his absence made the court remand him until a proper bail application is presented My advice is Dele should prove all the issues he raised in court . If they are lies then defamation of character is established . |

1bunne4lif:You too don’t see wrong and be sending wrong How many times have you criticised someone online on nairaland how many times has the person sent DSS to come and arrest you The best way to move a country forward is to continuously improve the structures including the democracy that builds it In 2024, you are locking someone for calling you corrupt How does that even sound in your ear |

adonainana:criticism has its limits and no sane person will arrest you because he/she was criticized. When you criticize, make sure you have facts and not mere hear say. And there's clear distinction between been criticized and been defamed, if the accusation is wrong then, the latter is what happened and there'll definitely be consequences |

emkz:To ye all the defenders and supporters of Afe Babalola, I have this simple request. Let Chief Afe Babalola approach the Courts and sue Dele Farotimi for libel just like Falana did for VeryDarkMan. Afe Babalola knew that under Lagos State Laws where Dele Farotimi was residing, defamation is not a crime. In fact defamation and libel under Nigerian Law is a tort and for the States that have criminalized it, human right lawyers have continued to argue that defamation is a civil wrong and not a crime and it's criminalization is an attempt to restrict free speech. Falana himself made that clear and said he would rather sue VeryDarkMan rather than use the Police to harras him. Dele Farotimi in his book claimed that he filed a suit for libel against Afe Babalola but the case was suppressed and Afe Babalola had not defence. I have not seen anywhere in his statements where Afe Babalola has denied ever committing libel against Dele Farotimi as alleged in the book. It is trite that he who comes to equity must come with clean hands. If Afe Babalola committed libel against Dele Farotimi and suppressed the case, it is clear that he would not be eager to approach the Courts with his own allegations of libel. |

A lawyer arrested another lawyer for libel, does it mean the senior lawyer doesn't trust the judicial system by resorting to use the police to arrest his colleague from one state to another instead of sueing him for a civil case? Has the senior lawyer not proven by his actions, that the allegations made against are actually correct? If someone accused you of being a thief, and the only way to prove you are not is to steal, what does that prove? |

With all these epistles you have written. You haven't justify anywhere in the law that legitimise the gangster- like manner of arrest by the Ekiti state police as evidenced in the CCTV footage released.Dont say you haven't seen it.I await to hear your justification on that and let's so I will learn a part of the law that empowers the police to invade your premises like bandits and seize both huge phones and all your staff phones. Mr Law aka Defender Sergio Ramos.I await your lecture on this issue. emkz: |

You still haven't addressed the substance bog the issue.Does the court order also includes empowering the police to seize his staffs phones as seen in the CCTV camera? Is that the ideal way of police engagement in a democratic situation that Babalola has fought hard through the judiciary system for Nigeria? An straightforward answer will tell who has allowed sentiments to influence his response here. At least I never said he should be taken to court but the gang-star like arrest enshrined in the court order which is the new normal according to you is what I need some exegesis on. Defender Sergio Ramos kindly defend.😂😂😂😂😂 buckeyemedia: |

buckeyemedia:I think you know that the courts do not have such powers, I can't believe you are not this ignorant, no. You must know, but your emotions are clouding your judgement. And also, the allegations are not as serious as you deem it to be, I know that people in powers are used to flexing their "powers" over the weak, and they will never use such powers for the good of the people. Think very well as a sensible person, are there not more important national issues that your favourites can channel their powers to address? Is only to silent the voices that dares speak against them that they become vexed? Why are they silent when terrorists and hunger insults them? And you go calm yourself youth o, which future your children get with this ya agbero mindset? |
