Before you fully jump into conclusion whenever you hear "rape cases" in the western world, you should always realize that our perception of rape is quite different from that of the western world.
A girl might have consensual sex with a man and wake up the next morning and say the man raped her and he'll be arrested for it.
The woman might even claim not to have been in her senses when she agreed to it or might even say she was drunk or intoxicated during the encounter and the court will still charge the man for rape.
There's also the case of "statuary rape".
In this particular case there's a high chance that the guy is probably innocent.
The girl might have been drunk or high and might have started flirting with the taxi driver and this must have made the guy believe that he was gonna get lucky and probably made him book the hotel room only for the girl to wake up the next day and come to her senses and accused him of rape.
My reason for saying this is that no man that wants to rape a woman (either intoxicated or not) will take her to a hotel, when it's quite easier to park the car at a quiet area and do it in the car and drop her somewhere when he's done.
