Dam5reey1:Wow.. That's great. Since I have a 100a charger, I was scared the 100a own will be too exact and risky. So I went for the 400a own. I'm glad you are using it and you've a great review of it. Do you rate it's baterry capacity (SOC) data? You think it's correct and at par with your internal BMS data? |

Dam5reey1:I love that you integrated it to your battery. Cool. But this device can't read the different cells voltage to know if they ok. I have my Bluetooth bms to show me that, but with coulometer I'll just get online monitor of basic overall battery data |

ask4bk:Its more accurate compared to BMS, BMS always drift but shunt does does not. Yeah, I have the 100Balance BMS that is remotely accessible as well. Now using Solar Assistance with the BMS may decommission this Shunt meter for another battery. |

Hello guys, my 15kwh felicity lithium battery is charging slowly. The first guy that did the connection, did a wrong connection and got my 10kva inverter burnt. I got another inverter (SMS 10.2KW Hybrid inverter) and the new installer corrected the previous connection. But I noticed that the battery now charges slowly despite having high PV from the panels. I’m getting 3.200Watts from the panels but the charging current is 13Amps. I used to see up to 80Amps from similar PV in the previous connection and the battery will be fully charged before 3pm during peak sunlight. But now, even with this scorching sun and without using the battery at all, I barely get 2 bars full by end of day. There’s obviously something wrong with this current connection and the guy is telling me that the BMS in the battery might be bad. I am finding it difficult to believe that. Please any idea what could be wrong? From the little I have read and understand, charging current (amps) also determines how fast a battery charges and I’m see low amperage since this connection. |

fuckboys:How much did you get it? What’s the amp rating? How has it faired so far? |

Tucode:Select the appropriate battery type on the setting interface and let's see if it improves the situation. Is the battery bms connected to the inverter? |

| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by Nobody: 3:53pm On Dec 06, 2024 |
fuckboys:Great, how has it faired when compared to the PWM you used? Especially the current from your panel? Was there any positive changes? I am thinking of Getting a new panel or getting an MPPT charge controller. |
| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by mctfopt: 4:54pm On Dec 06, 2024 |
Tucode:Do you have problem running heavy load on the battery? If yes, then BMS failure may likely not be the issue here. Connection failure may be an issue. Either a panel in series have failed, or PV connection have degraded hence only like half the solar panels you have is at work. Also do you have grid connected? Does the battery charge with higher amperage than what you have when the sun is out? If you have grid charging much higher than your PV current used to be, then issue may either be breaker failure or PV wire connection issue. Also before I go, the 13A is it what you see in the Felicity battery display or what you see on the inverter? I'm asking this because if the PV are connected in high voltage, current coming in from the panels will be smaller. For instance, P= IV , where I = current and V = voltage P = 13A X 400V = 5200w With low voltage you may see something like P = 34.6A X 150V = 5200w Same power, just different current and voltage. |

BigDickProblems:mppt charge controller is the best. I was actually using a pmw of 60amps before I went for the mppt 30amps. Can you imagine a 30a mppt charges faster than a 60amps pwm controller. On very sunny days the pwm charges the system to 100 around 4pm, but now it charges to full before 12pm with the mppt. The efficiency is better on the mppt cos it's still also charges even when the sun isn't that bright but I can't say the same for the pwm. |
| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by Nobody: 9:16pm On Dec 06, 2024 |
fuckboys:Great! I would have loved to know if you took note of your max current output from your panel as well as the max voltage during the peak hours of sunlight using the PWM and MPPT. This could have compared their efficiency and how they worked in an easier way. |
| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by dollarnaira(m): 12:19am On Dec 07, 2024 |
BigDickProblems:Mppt will track energy even with the slightest day light. Mppt is higher in all levels compared to pwm. However, pwm will work on a small set up but not upgradable. The huge difference is in the price too. |
| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by Nobody: 2:26am On Dec 07, 2024 |
dollarnaira:Yeah. I know about that. Actually, we both use a close-to-similar system, that is why my questions to him were specific, especially with regards to his current and voltage readings before and after getting his mppt charge controller. |

Dam5reey1:Are you satisfied with the performance of the 100Balance bms so far? I'm thinking of getting one, it's a little cheaper than JK and Daly. |
| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by Dam5reey1(m): 9:51am On Dec 08, 2024 |
moneymind:SOC drift one of the major issue, no SOC to 100% by voltage unlike JK. Not satisfied.. JK is cheaper. I ordered few JK Waiting for arrival. |

So, update: Fouani delivered my solar panel yesterday. Didn't know it was that big and a bit heavy. The kind stunt I pull on okada yesterday, I no fit do am again. I still blame the delivery guys though. So, I ordered on November 29, and they delivered on December 7, which makes it 9 days. Location is Osun State. Cc. zenith4biz odimbannamdi ask4bk twosquare:

BigDickProblems:No I actually didn't do the maths on both controllers but I just using real world data of what time they both charges to full. Okay let's put it like this, with the pwm I've had my system go off during the night on a day when the sun wasn't very bright, But I haven't had that issue on the mppt controller. Now Even without bright sunlight, my system carries me through the night till dawn the next day when it starts charging again. All these are on the same consistent load of not more than 100w at night. |

Hey guys , any affordable solar that can handle charging 200+ phones? |
| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by oweniwe(m): 6:18pm On Dec 08, 2024 |
Alexta01:Whatever you do, don't buy lead acid battery. Else rainy season/ cloudy condition will show you pepper. Use mppt from 60a 2,000w minimum inverter. Sachet inverter should be able to power all the chargers. 3 units of 330w panels should do Depending on your location, site your panel where sun can begin to reach out from 8am to 5pm. Turn on inverter 8:15am and off it between 5.30 and 6pm. You will spend up to 1m - 1.5m but you will enjoy it later. If you're charging N150 per phone /N200 power bank is cool biz. Just see your solar system as fixed asset ZERO Daily operation EXPENSES No running shop ceiling fan o ... Or anything else dunno how the inverter will fare with the additional load |
| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by mctfopt: 6:32pm On Dec 08, 2024 |
Alexta01:That's a lot of phones. Get yourself a lithium battery. I think anything from 1.2kwh and above is supposed to be enough. |
