There are strikers better than Jackson that don't cost 80m and are still below 25. Dovbyk, Alvarez, even Rodrigo Muniz (injury concern) are all better than Jackson in front of goal.

Maresca would be foolish, going into the season with Jackson as our main striker again.

Rooney has the performance to complement his longevity. From Everton sef.

The bolded is all the more reason why Shearer should be in the conversation. Scoring such number of goals with Blackburn and Newcastle, imagine what he would have done with a Man United or an Arsenal of that time.

I am always armed with proofs.

Take for instance, some of these people were shocked that despite scoring 8 goals Jackson was still criticised and asked to improve for missing 1 v 1s this season. N.B: I just checked, Shearer has 11 hat tricks. Just one short of Aguero.... Imagine if Shearer played in the star studded City side that Aguero played. Shearer's achievement carry weight because of the type of teams he played for.

On a serious note, it’s all down to preference and few considerable metrics like longevity, consistency, stats, personal honors, etc.

But then, I believe just like the other folks, that Salah is way more complete and decorated than the rest for EPL.

For me personally, I can't pick any one until an official criteria is brought out then we make a decision based on that. But if you point a gun to my head to choose, it's between Shearer and Salah... Henry and Rooney very close behind.
