Congratulations Ghanaians. It gladens my heart to witness the peace and unity that is evident in your daily lives also manifesting during the conduct of your General Elections. No snatching of ballot boxes by thugs, police, Army, other security forces and armed groups. No political assassinations, no killings or shooting at the polling units. May God bless you all and keep the peace that you enjoy as a country. I'm very sure that all foreigners in your country are proud of you. Now to my beloved country Nigeria the sleeping giant of Africa, we have a lot to learn from Ghana on how important it is to ensure peace and unity in our country Nigeria. I just watched the video of Dr Bawumia's concession speech and I can only see a man who's passionate about the unity and peace of his country. Pure class and Patriotism even when his people just rejected him at the polls. Making a concession speech even before the official declaration of the Electoral commission is evident to this man's character and love for the unity in his country and this can NEVER happen in Nigeria for sure when there are still bullets to be fired at INEC office. Whether Bawumia won or Mahama won I say it's a win win for Ghanaians... Congratulations to one of the most peaceful countries in the world....Congratulations my people... Congratulations H.E John D. Mahama

He would manipulate the results, he wouldn't care of the total votes cast is greater than the number of registered voters. He would declare his candidate winner and start screaming 'Go to court'

Follow the results closely, about 8 heavyweights parliamentary candidates have lost their seats already, they aren't returning to the parliament.
The army, police, and other security agencies aren't used to harass, intimidate, or rig elections.

Nigeria has a lot to learn.

Really needs to pick Alot of lessons to learn from the Ghanian election.

First is the voter turn out at the election. Many people came out to vote. Many of such voters traveled long distances to their polling units to vote. As at Thursday voters had started traveling to their polling constituency to exercise their rights on Saturday when the election took place. The result hasn't been fully collated yet, but already the percentage of voters is higher than that recorded in comparison to the last election in Nigeria where they were lots of voter apathy.

Secondly, they was no intimidation or harassment from security agencies. No touts, ballot snatchers etc. The election was held in a very peaceful atmosphere.

Next is the level of transparency exhibited by the electoral commission. They were so transparent right from the registration of candidates to the actual election. I was surprised some of the measures put in place to ensure transparency in the build up to the election. Measures that made rigging difficult if not impossible. You could tell the sincerity in their wanting to conduct a free election.

When elections are held in a peaceful and transparent atmosphere then the loser has nothing to complain about. A clear winner is guaranteed and the legitimacy of his government is ensured.

I am actually shocked and pleasantly surprised at the grade of the election conducted.

Kudos to the Ghana Electoral commission and the people of Ghana.

This election is prove that good things can happen in Africa!

Nigeria has a lot to learn.

Did many heavy weights not lose their seat to the hurricane Buhari effect in 2015 when APC sacked Jonathan from power?

But many of you still blame Jega and INEC for allowing Jonathan to be democratically and constitutionally sacked from power in that same election.

And the 2023 election that President Tinubu won, all votes were rightfully tallied and the winner with the highest votes and the only one who met the national spread requirements of all the other candidates was also rightfully declared winner.

The problem that exist is the attitude of the losers and their losing followers. That is why many losing supporters of Jonathan still blame him for rightfully accepting defeat to Buhari in 2015. They simply cannot accept defeat.

No matter how transparent a process seems there is always at least one person not satisfied. So you go and prove your case and not intimidate the process. I will not argue that Bubu, like past PDP presidents was useless. The electorate will have their say and they did. Sane as US and UK, that the party or person is useless is neither here nor there.

US elections are not a model of democracy. What you have there is a show of money power being disguised as election.

I'm glad you acknowledge that fact. So is every election under the surface of the earth. That's why democracy is a very capital-intensive venture. That's why only the rich oligarchs of every society get to rule or influence the outcome of elections to favour who they want to rule.

The problem of elections in Nigeria will be solved if you get it well in Lagos State.

Yorubas should not force their way on the majority voters because of ethnicity rather than citizenship.
