Newly re-elected president of Ghana Mahama visited Offa Kwara State where he grew up

Newly re-elected Ghanaian President John Mahama has disclosed his deep connection with Offa, Nigeria, where he now considers his second home.

The ex-Ghanaian leader made this revelation in a public event, a clip of which has gone viral on the internet.

Speaking about his Nigerian roots, Mahama explained, "My stepmother is Nigerian, who raised me. She comes from Ofa in Kwara State."

Mahama detailed his personal history, highlighting a period of exile during a coup in Ghana that led him to live with his stepmother in Offa.

"I had to come and stay with my stepmother for many years in Offa, so I know Offa quite well," he said.

Mahama proudly shared, "I'm the Are Atolase of Ofa Kingdom."

Mahama's announcement underscores the strong personal and cultural ties he maintains with Nigeria, illustrating a unique aspect of his background and highlighting the cross-border connections that shape his identity.

HE John Mahama is so proud of his Yoruba Nigerian roots.

From Benin republic to Sierra Leone to Nigeria and now to Ghana, there's a Yoruba root and culture of excellence in each of the Presidents of these great nations.

The labour of our Yoruba forebears is not in vain. They knew this day will come some day and they made all the necessary sacrifice in their life time for the fruits we now see today.

Our forebears were not hating on other tribes or feeding us with lies, bigotry and hate for other tribes. Little wonder that even the landowners/indigenes of Accra , the capital of Ghana, are Yoruba descendants!

Congratulations Ọmọluabi HE John Mahama. We are so very proud of you sir. May your reign be a profoundly successful one.

That's a good thing. We should all be proud of our roots and taproots no matter wherever they came from. Just that some people who like freestuffs will denigrate similar stories if it originated from areas they don't like. Pity.

John was in Nigeria with GEJ his close friend on Tinubu congratulations..-‘and since then nothing ..
Tinubu never supported his campaign but his loyal friend went as elder statesmen leader to monitor election.. appointed by an independent organization

If this same John should ignore this administration and his Yoruba people .. .. next is to start writing articles on articles to blackmail him and his administration..

Kemi ignored them properly even with their articles… yet no lesson learnt.

Beside ..
Kwara state is not a Yoruba enclave .. na proper emirate of Hausa Fulani.. even John himself went to greet the emir .. no be Oni..
Even he went to see one “ man” for offa .. e no mean .. kwara remains north.
