The thing most people don't know is that most Ghanaian elites married Yoruba women, from the former UN sec-gen Kofi Annan to the current Ghanaian president Akufo Addo, to the former WHO boss Dr. Ekwe to the Justice Agoro's family and then this Mahama's story. It's actually in middle-belt and the affliation with the north is Ilorin emirate and having more islamic influence than core-south. Ilorin is the only town in the state that has a mix of indigenes who are not entirely Yoruba. Geo-political zones are loosely crafted into ethnic majorities but not a homogeneous unit.
