Atutuboyoyo!!! Yorubas have never been known to be good managers in the financial sector of our economy. This is largely due to their extravagant lifestyles.

Even one of the richest Yoruba men, Mike Adenuga, couldn't manage his Equatorial Trust Bank (ETB).

If UBA, Access Bank, Zenith, Fidelity, etc, had been managed by a Yoruba person from their inception, they would have probably ended up like ETB.

I come in peace o!
You talk like someone who thinks from his anus?

What about Diamond Bank and Savannah Bank which collapsed, were they also managed by Yorubas?

And am here since last week waiting for my #94k debited but not refunded.
And firstadvance has not been going since worsening the whole matter.

The worst of the worst is that the customer care number is not accessible even when you call.

Where they are spending money lavishly. Chai...First bank no longer make my proud like before when we pride that we use firstbank.

Nice one Otedola.

This is boss move (Roman Abramovic Style). The bank has recapitalization to deal with and to meet up with CBN deadline, but you wasting fund for a send-off party on a staff who was forced to resign over 60 billion electronic fraud. You too will eventually be forced to resign.

That's incompetency, mismanagement and misplaced priority.
I think part of the person/s who sanction this party pension should be deducted to offset the bill

How can a send-off party organised in Harbor point be considered lavish? 9 years as GMD deserves some accolades and celebration. There's more to the story, the harbour point party can't be the issue.

The Cable and Junk journalism.

From previous press reports, this sum was not up to N60 billion.

I quote the cable ''It is still unclear if Ani-Mumuney’s resignation is directly linked to the party'' If it is still unclear, why link the lady's resignation to party?

Adeduntan did so well for FirstBank and stepped on the toes of those milking FirstBank. The regulator report confirmed that Adeduntan pulled FirstBank back from the brink and grew the bank.

This report looks like a hatchet job report.

Keyword is "negligence"

Eriokanmi:
Hmmm. 60bn is huge oo. Sadly, most Nigerians are mere nominal Muslims and Christians. They don't fear God whom they claim they're serving at all and that's why Nigeria is this backward. A pastor will be deceiving followers and be turning the bible upside down to suit his selfish ends. An imam will be caught with juju and human parts. Is it God who sent them?

See this man, a so-called devoted muslim with such a tick, dark spot visibly seen on his forehead. Who would ever think such a man would have his hands enmeshed in such a huge fraud? God is so patient. I know He'll deal with everyone according to their deeds.

You are obviously bereft of adequate knowledge, uba is 75years old, it has been in existence before elumelu father met his mother, go and check the history to know who made uba thick. GTB too is not managed by a Yoruba abi. Diamond bank was ruined by your ibo brother, Savannah bank too etc

You don't need to drag yorubas into this matter, it has to do more with individual than tribe. The person that mismanaged NSITF funds is not from yoruba tribe.

You're so correct. I know people from Delta and Rivers state are good bankers.

For instance, it was Access bank that bought Diamond bank from the family who ran it down. The Yoruba founders of Diamond bank were so useless that they couldn't manage it well.

It is a pity that GTB is still in Yoruba hands.

Why anyone would open himself up to ridicule by writing jargons will forever amaze me.

On a more serious and genuine note, I felt sad when Diamond bank was bought over by Access. It was a true Igbo bank and they had something to be proud of. I felt sad when it was sold. That is how people should feel.

Hemanwel:
okay sorry, because I didn't mention Intercontinental Bank, which was managed aground by Erastus Akingbola
Most Yorubas banks that went under did so due to large loan exposure to those selling Gala on the street.

It was initially profitable to the Yoruba bankers but things turned nasty, when all of them were rounded up by KAI, and sent back to the Southeast where all of them came from.

You won't blame the Gala sellers because they are your people but be pointing fingers at their Yoruba benefactors.

Despite this, the Yoruba owned banks such as FCMB and GTB have chosen to set up shop in the east.

The Gala seller associations in the East have welcomed them with open hands assuring them that they need fear as this is their homeland and that KAIs reach no pass Lagos.
