It's actually in middle-belt and the affliation with the north is Ilorin emirate and having more islamic influence than core-south. Ilorin is the only town in the state that has a mix of indigenes who are not entirely Yoruba. Geo-political zones are loosely crafted into ethnic majorities but not a homogeneous unit.

In the geopolitical zones there is nothing like middle belt. We only have north east, north west anf north centre which all made up the northernern state.

Ilorin or Kwara State is not a yoruba state same with kogi. All this are not yorubas but belongs to tjr northern minority ethnic groups and they must be protected and respected
