Still importing petrol despite Dangote refinery.
And exporting petrol to UAE via Portharcourt refinery.

We really need to boost our agricultural output on all fronts.

The data is for Jan - September. Dangote started petrol profusion proper in October.

Also, importers work based on contracts. Some of them have months of contract already that need to be fulfilled.

By first quarter of next year, everything will stabilize and the petrol import would have reduced in comparison.

I can't complain about the cars, wheat, motorcycles and other medicaments for the fact that we currently do not have the technical knowledge to produce them, or the weather to produce wheat in commercial quantity, but why on earth are we importing petroleum products and sugarcane?

Imagine spending that much on used vehicles and motorcycles while machines is at their bottom.

As palm oil cost reach this year, it didn't make the list of top exported

Nigeria used to be a great exporter of Groundnuts, Rubber, Cocoa, Palm kernel, coffee ......and so many other agricultural produce in the early 60s. The green in our flag, not one but 2 stands for Agriculture. The earlier we return to modern Agriculture the better for us.

The problem is even if this money is saved, it's still the pockets of the politicians it will get into instead of being used to develop the country. Nigeria's problem is corruption. Once these corrupt politicians are killed and institutions are truly independent and strict capital punishment is laid out for embezzlement, you'd see how this country will blossom

Where is the gold export index, lithium, tin zinc ..
Everyday we hear of mine collapse... All the mining activities that are going on in the north are never captured on record

Good to see agroproducts on that list.

Next step is to add value to them and export as semifinished products. Would be a win-win for Nigeria and its international customers.
