My brother used his bare hand to mix Force Up weed killing harbiside.
Unfortunately, he had a wound in his hand and I think through the wound the herbiside with an active ingredient of Glyphosate has entered his blood stream (I might be wrong but this is how we think the herbiside entered his body).

It's been about 3 months now and his kidney function test shows it has been degrading. He feels nobness in his hand and his eyes is also getting affected.
He has gone to many hospitals and they didn't believe it's the herbiside. After conducting many tests, they just leave him in limbo.

He has spents so much money at Evercare hospital in Lekki and they also just stopped attending to him.
We have been looking for Toxicology and Poision control centre but we have not seen any reputable one.

His body is geeting weak everyday and his organs function are degrading.... Do you know any good hospital that can handle this or any posion control centre we can take him to?

Complete blood and bodily scan would reveal the state of his system and organs and you can get expert advice and care from medical professionals. I do not think one needs to much money for a test. Stop leaving your nrother to suffer. Get him to any medical centre for tests

This is very unfortunate!
Why would he use bare hand to mix chemical?
Does the test report show that those symptoms are associated with the chemical he mixed?
Have you people tried any reputable university teaching hospitals like UNILAG or UI ?

Glyphosphate is a very toxic chemical

Nigeria has no poisons centre I am aware of. You have lost valuable time to save his kidneys. He should have been put on dialysis straight away. You need to explore that option so it gives his kidneys time and space to recover. Many of those hospitals in high brow areas are just out there to suck all the money out without providing quality medical care. You should have taken him to a teaching hospital for admission into a proper renal unit managed by specialists.

But what was he thinking using his bare hands to mix such a toxic substance for which there is no antidote? Did he not read the instructions on the pack?

there are 3 layers of medicare in Nigeria. You have the primary health centres, which give primary health care like immunisations, antinatal care, treatment of simple illnesses like malaria. Next you have the secondary health care centres, these include the General Hospitals you have in most cities and towns. they are design to manage the more challenging illnesses and routine surgeries.

next in line are the tertiary health centres. these are specialist health centres designed for research and treatment of the most difficult health challenges. examples of these are the University Teaching Hospitals and federal medical centres.

from what you have described, your brother has a medical condition that needs to be handled by the tertiary health care system, unfortunately he has been going to the secondary health care centres. I deally, they should have referred him to a tertiary health care centre. I wonder why he has not been referred.

Take your brother to a tertiary health care centre, somewhere like the teaching hospital of a federal university should be able to diagnose and handle his problem. take him to the federal university teaching hospital close to you. Any teaching hospital of the old generation federal universities should be fine.

Most people are living in denial. As I always say, Naija does not know when anyone dies because the population is far too large. There are over 1,000 people lined up to replace everyone immediately. Let 50% or more of Nigeria's medical practitioners leave today; their positions will be easily filled. This is the reality of Nigeria, so we play with everything. Just think about it. Why would there be a law prohibiting hospitals from treating gunshot wound victims without a police report? Because whoever enacted that law is something else. Any country that values life will not approve of this.

My point is that those who praise teaching hospitals have no idea how bad and ineffective they are now. Yes, I understand that they are teaching hospitals at the top, but many of them are completely useless.

Anyway, if you have the money, here's how to do it. I believe there are private wards in some of these teaching hospitals where you can pay a high fee and receive special attention. You may also want to find experts in the field you want to treat and inquire about their private practice locations. You should consult these doctors and use their private hospitals. Many of these doctors from various teaching hospitals work at prestigious private clinics.

The mistake was that the op did not find a good consultant who works with the Lekki Clinic. Most likely, no consultant at the hospital he visited can handle his case. If he had found two "bad asses" consultants in the area needed and then located the private hospitals they work for, this problem might have been resolved.

If you walk into a hospital expecting to get the best care in Nigeria, you are in for a long wait. You should conduct thorough research, find out where experts are, and find a way to obtain their services where they practise privately. If not, you will be dead before you know what is happening.

I have witnessed world-class surgeries at private hospitals like Redington and St. Nicholas, both in Lagos. Mecure is the best diagnostic center I know of, and they used to schedule eye surgeries performed by "bad ass" Indian doctors. I recall an elderly man in Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH) who was on the verge of losing his eyesight due to glaucoma. Those people claimed they could not operate it but could manage it, and they had been doing so for three years, but it was getting worse, and the old man had lost about 95% of his sight at the time. Fortunately, one of his children contacted one of my cousins, who then called me to see if there was any way out. I called our family doctor, who started asking about potential solutions. So the doctor called me back and told me that some "bad ass" Indians were already on a 10-day working visa in Nigeria in Mecure. Na so old man was rushed there. The doctors performed a surgery that LUTH claimed could not be done. Lol. The funny thing is that the old man spent only two hours there and returned home with his eyes bandaged. The next day, the old man's bandage was removed, and he was dancing around the room, which he could see clearly. The surgery was almost painless and successful. Well, the surgery did not fully reverse the condition, and the old man has been applying eye drops to reduce the pressure in his eyes, but they saved the eyes which could have gone blind. Is this not better? The old man pulled a call to me. If you hear blessings coming out of old papa? I was saying amen...amen....amen. At the end of the call, old man bursted into tears and was saying..."I can see again clearly". That was when I realise that blindness is a bad thing. In Jesus' name, I pray that Elon Musk and others who are working to restore sight to the blind will succeed.

If you want to die quickly, simply walk into Nigerian teaching hospitals without conducting thorough research. If you have the money, do your research and find the right guy to treat you. There are still some excellent doctors here. These guys go around. They work in several places to make a decent living because teaching hospitals pays so little. I respect some of those guys. They are in high demand among reputable private hospitals. And once they know you can pay, they will show you the sophisticated equipment that is still available. And if you need to move abroad, they will tell you. This is why it is critical to find the right person in a timely manner so that you can begin treatment. If you do not get it right, you are almost like an experiment subject.
