Obasanjo: do as I say not as I do?

Obasanjo left prison virtually penniless but left office a multi-billionaire with a presidential library worth billions to show for his thievery.

Operation Feed the Nation (OFN) which he initiated transformed overnight to become Obasanjo Farms Nigeria (OFN).

In short, massive corruption reigned supreme during his 8 years rule and subsequent administrations have continued on the same trajectory.

If Obasanjo is truly sincere, he must return all that he stole from the Nigerian coffers.

He who preaches chastity but lives a lawless life, they say, do not expect to have devoted followers.

If after decades, you still have this boldness to say he is the cause of your country present problem, then you're nothing but a slowpoke who have nothing to contribute to the growth of your country other than ranting and blaming past leader because I'm pretty sure you will still blame him after 50years if care is not taken. Just imagine the nonsense you are splitting. Indeed, Nigerians deserve the kind of leaders they have
Will ignore your insults however, OBJ's lacklustre, self centred, myopic, corrupt leadership when the country needed a new orientation from the decades of military misrule gave the new set of political class the audacity to rule with impunity.

If he robbed with a pen knife and his protégées are now robbing with AK47, it doesn't make him a saint or better person. He simply set the tone for the rot in the system.

A father that smokes in the presence of his children shouldn't act surprise when his underage lights a cigarette.
I'm only listing all his actions which contributed to the present situation, you can counter with your own facts

THat is where holding your leaders to account comes in.

NO one said democracy is all about spoon feeding chaps like you.
You lots are quick to think everyone is out to get fed and upset your feeding off the government.

The reason why we borrow and have been borrowing
1. Government revenue from taxation is not sufficient for a nation our size. Most people do not pay tax because the economy is largely informal

2. Revenue from oil is also not sufficient for a nation our size and has been over the last 40 years at least 80% of government revenues

3. A lack of commitment to fighting corruption by most governments.

This one gets easily hurt.

He also does not know he is a mirror image of the other side.

LOL.

Stop waiting for your nanny to feed you dividends of democracy. Be the change Nigeria needs.

I shouldn't have bothered telling you anything, main reason why I tell idiots like you to go to hell when they ask questions.
You zombies have been programmed to kiss the ass of your oppressors no matter what they do to destroy you.
ibabz:
I asked for verifiable case/s of corruption, and not all these beer parlor gossip without any source/s. If you know this much about OBJ, why not read a book and state all these your allegations?

Is this truly the best you can do? One of my greatest disappointments is sharing the same country with retarded brains like you, who approach discussions with such baseless hostility. A low life idiot like you has the gut to label others as 'zombies,' yet your behavior exemplifies a lack of critical thinking. A 'zombie' blindly believes everything they’re told—does that description fit here? I just pity the womb that bears the bigoted lowlife idiot like you. You are just a wasted semen.

All I asked for were verifiable claims, yet your response is laced with unwarranted anger. Is it realistic to expect everyone to abandon rational thought and accept baseless accusations? If your claims are genuine, why not present the evidence instead of resorting to insults?

I refuse to engage in baseless conversations or allow disrespect towards an elder statesman who has contributed significantly to this country. If you have proof to support your claims, provide it—otherwise, I can’t waste my precious time engaging with a fool like you.
