[quote author=nairalanda1 post=133240431]Railway that took about 15 years to build 2 out of 7 lines?

Railway that was built with second hand rail coaches.

Railway that was built in the state with a large income from all the things located there?

Has any other state in the SW or even the rest of the country built railway? NO.

Kano tried. Ganduje was governor then, he even got a proposal , and the state assembly...filled with his yes men...said NO to rail in kano, because the state cannot afford it.

You guys better stop boasting. LAGOS is broke. It needs 50 times the money it makes to look like a proper world city. Not the shanty town it is.[/quote

That is around 505 million dollars.

And the funny thing is most states have that tiny amount of money as 'budget'

Yet people would be wanting what an economy with a budget of 500 Billion dollars has.

Nigerians are not ready to change Nigeria. grin

Yes, Nigeria is BROKE. Corruption makes the brokeness WORSE. Realizing Nigeria is a broke nation is the first step on the road to change. Second step is to realize that oyel cannot feed even Bayelsa state. cheesy
what is the way out?

750 billion for a population of approximately 4.2 million people amounts to about N182k or $116 per head, if the money were to be shared.
$116 can't feed a 6-month-old child for one year. The budget is very poor.

In context. The US budget for 2023 was $6.7 trillion on a populationof 334 million. Each person gets at least $20k or or #34 million if it were to be shared.
That's what a budget looks like
. how.much did Ekiti budgeted ?

shocked

Best governor for now in Nigeria.
Back it up with facts.
How's he the best governor yet haven't started and completed any project on his own for over two years while his mates in the same region are commissioning new developmental projects?

Alex Otti is more ambitious in mega project delivery than Peter Obi who was more conservative in saving money than spending.
Both are good in their own ways.
I don't believe in saving money when there are lots of infrastructure deficit. When Peter Obi was busy saving money, lots of streets in Onitsha remained untarred , he could have used that money to turn nnewi Onitsha and Awka into modern cities. He ruled at same time with Sullivan and Akpabio who transformed their respective states by heavily investing in infrastructure.

Otti is better than Obi but he has the advantage of learning from obi's mistakes

They're alot governors doing better than Oti at present
Otti is ahead of sanwo olu compared to the funds available to them.

By the way does Ondo, Ekiti and Ogun have governors ? Seems those states are dead

That is why I disagree with those who always want to attach Peter Obi to Alex Otti. Two of them are quite different in method of governance.
In less than two years Otti have undertaken multiple mega projects across Abia state and is hungry and in a haste to develop the state.

By the time Otti finishes his first term, people will be shouting wow ! Wow !! Wow !!!.
Just as you pointed earlier, their styles are quiet different. Otti does not fear projecs , man came prepared , you need to see the ovom erosion site that he is tacking instead of crying to the federal government. The federal government wanted to construct airstrip in Abia but Otti instead decided to team with then so as to upgrade it to full airport.. man will surely transform Abia by the time he ends his 8 years tenure. He is conscious of legacy.

You said US sir not New York City. This is Abia State, tiny among the dots. Criticism should it be linear or curved? Wait for Nigeria budget, then draw proper comparison.

Humbly submitted for your critical reasoning.

Typical of a notorious ethnic bigot:
instead of presenting facts and figures about other governors who have performed far better than Alex Otti, you go all out displaying your tribal and ethnic bigotry
You like over hyping nonsense.....
How is Otti, the best governor? What are your metrics?
Facts and figures dont lie.

Note......not everybody here is uneducated.

This is not an issue of compliment the state doesn't have huge financial resources. Most governors present unrealistic budget proposals.Abia state can't get more than #10b from FAAC and I am not aware they have an igr of #60b annually.
You seem not to know the difference between compliment and complement
