Has Afe Babalola proven anything yet? The burden of proof lies on the prosecution, not the defendant.
Lol where did this one get this B.S from? So anyone can just make alegations and let the prosecution bring the burden of proof? Wow some of Una dey "reason" sha!

Dele only put the truth into writing almost every sane Nigeria knew that our judiciary are corrupt. Even chief justice Ariwola and Kekere Ekun decried this in their respective speech. Late Umar Musa Yaradua, Okonjo Iwela, Gani Fawayimi, Fela Anikulapo, Falana and other notables all condemned the corrupt Judiciary.
My advice is that Ariwola , Kere Ekun, Yaradua e t.c should also be sued grin grin
The "Truth" that you posit is what is going to be tested in the court of law and if you believe in JUSTICE then it automatically suffices that you believe in EVIDENCE! The evidence provided by Dele not just "every sane Nigerian knows that our Judiciary is corrupt" talk is what will make the Truth Factual! No sentiments, It's that simple!

It seems that Farotimi's did right , given the attacks he received. This intense reaction suggests that he said the truth and the truth struck a nerve hence the one that claimed he was defamed is jittery.
Mentioning people names in his finding was the main mistake he made. He should've simply write against impurities going on in Nigeria justice system withiout Mentioning names. He could've instead refers to "Regimes " or during so so so events.

Do you have a smartphone? If yes, then use the smartphone for one of the basic things it can do: "Obtain information". Come back and apologize. T for Thanks.

Ekong v. Otop
The Supreme Court explicitly placed the burden on the claimant to prove the falsity of the statement in question. In this case, the court required the plaintiff to establish not only that the words were defamatory but also that they were false.

Who is the claimant? The prosecution.
Who is the plaintiff in this case? The prosecution.

Who is dumb between me and you? grin grin

The evidences are all out there go and listen to the IGP, Hon CJN Justice Ariwoola, Hon. CJN Kekere Ekun, Ngozi Okonjo Iwela, Umar Musa Yaradua's speech and other notables SAN speeches. Dele's book is just the compilations of their comments and his personal experience. And don't forget that the same Afe Babalola was behind the Paris club scandal, privatization of NITEL and even the sale of the govt refinery that Yaradua reversed bcs the process of procurement was corrupt
If Nigeria is a sane country Afebabalola should be thoroughly investigated undecided

You people in Nigeria are so funny and the way you analyse matters likes this truly reveals why this country is in the cesspit it is in.

You people think Afr Babalola abusing court processes in order to bully someone who accused him of abusing court processes, is somehow a win for who?

The international community that you're begging to invest in your country, can see the jankara justice your courts carry out. They can see how the courts have been used as a tool of oppression, instead of a means to discover the truth.

That is how Olanipekun's employee wrote a damning letter, exposing the underhanded dealings his firm gets up to, in order to obtain wrongful judgements for their clients, till today, Olanipekun has not been investigated, they just got rid of the employee. A Senator openly admitted that his wife, a Justice, had made some favourable decisions for National Assembly members at his behest, nobody investigated anything, now, another prominent lawyer, has been accused of frolicking with judges, you people rushed to arrest the accuser, nobody is investigating the allegations against the prominent lawyer.

Nigeria constantly shows that it is not a country that operates on rule of law, and its judiciary is a bastion of corruption. It is not Dele Farotimi that is on trial here, but the Nigerian judiciary, and it is failing terribly.

NOBODY WILL INVEST IN A COUNTRY THAT THRIVES ON IMPUNITY EXCEPT CRIMINALS.

You people are blind, stupid and extremely ignorant and it is very shameful that a few intelligent people occupy a nation so foul.

You seem to just want to thrive on emotions! It is evidence WHEN it is PRESENTED and TESTED in the courts NOT all these!! Is this so hard to understand? Maybe we should tie whomever to a stake and shoot them just cos you say the "evidence is all out there" abi?

Lawlessness in Nigeria did start today but the criminal justice system that treat people selectively should be revisited.
Biden pardon his son o. Many are languishing in U.S prison. Same judiciary convicted Trump many times but due to immunity clause he ran for president. The earlier you know that some are more equal than others the better.

If he doesn't make any mistake or have any evidence against those he wrote about, why is he not present them in court? Do journalists in developed countries you are quick to compare us with write about people withiout thorough research and evidence?

If Writting to defame people withiout evidence or prove is what you called the right thing, then you are the most ignorant, shameful and unintelligent person you talked about in your last paragraph.

Things are not always what we think they are, an emotional man is most irrational man on earth. You don't defame or bring other down in order to enrich or elevate yourself. If anyone try to tarnish the reputation i had built for decades, I will not only demand for compensation, I will ensure such person go to jail. We all know how corrupt is every sector in the country but that should not be contended withiout prove or evidence.

One thing is certain, if they had done most of the things he accused them of, they wouldn't have gone far to this extent with him. They would just be threatening him to apologise till everyone forget about the issue.

I thought they would serve Amazon the "court order".
The book rose from a pittance price of $4 to over $20 on the Amazon.
And all the money will probably go to the people who were defamed if Dele should lose the case.

You mentioned defendant but ended up saying prosecutor should do the defending?
The case is a call for the defendant to prove everything he wrote in that book, otherwise, he's bleeped.

Because what is this 'prosecutor should do the defending' thing you just typed? 🤷🏾‍♂️
