SmartyPants:Pidgin English is one of our languages. There is no harm in speaking it. English being our official language should be spoken in official settings at least. You will only have a point if 90% of those under 35 speak pidgin even in official settings. |

Bea1234:Why re you giving a blanket statement that people are suffering in Nigeria? It depends on who you ask. The response can never be the same. Are there not poor people in the countries you mentioned? Stop falling into an error of generaliszation. When you are there you will realise reality is different from Hollywood movie. People are still building beautiful houses in Nigeria. People are still buying latest cars. People have booked some halls for event till august 2025. And they are not politicians. Yet, you tagged them all as poor. You can encourage people to japa without putting a whole country inside a box. Migration is anyone right which can be activated but if you are not doing well in Nigeria doesn’t mean others are not doing well. More so a lizard in Nigeria can’t become crocodile abroad. |

Kingju:Here we go again! You are talking about a nation with "disasters" and "calamities" as leaders. A nation teeming with youths that are ready to contribute their quota to nation building. A land blessed with arable land and mineral resources. A land grossly mismanaged by rapacious, greedy and clanish leaders. That's the land we are talking about friend.

Your premise differs from mine. My point is about the country in question, not the language they speak there. If the OP have permanent residency in lets say Norway, and UK, he will achieve more in Norway than the UK.Well in as much you not in the UK, you will continue with this propaganda. I have stayed in the UK for just 2 and half years and what I have been able to achieve, I can’t in Nigeria for 9years. It displeased me when people that haven’t been somewhere would be discouraging people not to go. Well best of luck to people who diligently study places and plan towards moving. Peace |

pansophist:You will just open your mouth waaaaaaaa and be talking tr**h. You have been to the UK with which visa? Can you afford to come to the UK? You think the country is for poor people like u making noise online? Before your ignorance finishes you, browse UK minimum wage and your Norway? Does Norway speak English? Anyway I don't have strength for your kind. |

okoroemeka:100% That is why our youths and parents are wasting in the desert trying to reach Europe. Chai, may God comfort Nigerians. But the guy's advice is valid. If you can afford it, move. Even with your money, the country is not safe. |

I don't know when Japa becomes the automatic ticket to success. My friend don't be deceived because you see your old friends snapping pictures with the snow background, the Japa people always look happy in the pictures but do you know what they face behind the scene? The society out is good but not everyone that Japa that breakthrough Many Japa are struggling for the past 4/5 yrs they've been there. Some don't want to come back home because of shame while some are still pushing hopefully one day sun will smile at them. Some are working just to meet up with their needs and to pay taxes While some are struggling to pay rent over there some of their mates are already landlords here |

What OP is saying is 100% true. I came of age and just realized our parents were shielding us from poverty. More of a cosmetic approach. They struggle to pay fees, struggle to buy clothes for Xmas, worse off, if you have any medical ailment that passes paracetamol and anti malaria, you had better start praying. The poverty in Nigeria is multidimensional. You win one aspect, 200 show up. As a man, eventually you get married to another poor fellow, just Know that you have adopted another orphanage. The truth should be told from day 1. Kids must know they come from nothing and do all that is within their means to break the ginx. |

Childofgrace18:The average salary in Norway is actually higher than UK, 668,400 Norwegian Krone (47,217.49 Pound sterling) higher than UK which is 35,828 Pound sterling, but there are better jobs & work life balance in UK (For Immigrants) than Norway. Norway does not have a general minimum wage. On Reddit people are even complaining of how hard it is to get jobs in Norway: https://www.reddit.com/r/Norway/comments/1bsa0f9/why_is_getting_even_entry_level_tech_jobs_so_hard/ |

IyaTola:The outcome is the same, their protests also lead to nothing. People in the industrialized world protested in 2008 and things have gotten worse since then - inequality is greater, the cost of living higher. |
