Banjo wasn't trying to break nigeria up rather he was leading Ojukwu's Biafra Liberation Front (sic) rag-tag soldiers to wreck havoc on his (Banjo's ) ancestral homeland and then place yorubaland, under Ojukwu's political control.

The invasion of the SW was offically to take pressure off the Northern front of the biafran heartland.(Ukraine attempted something similar recently by invading part of Russia, which took pressure of the main front temproarily.

Also, it was rumored that Banjo wanted to essentially take over the SW and essentially, in collaboration with the surviving coup plotters complete the work of January 15 1966, and remove both Gowon and OJukwu...which is partly why he and Ifeajuana and others were executed by the BIafran goverment as traitors...a few weeks after the invasion of the midwest had failed.

On the topic, no foriegn leader can divide Nigeria.

Only way Nigeria can be divided peacefully is if the appropriate constitutional ammendments are passed to make a vote for secession possible.

That's how the Scottish referendum of 2014 happened. The appropriate laws were passed, and the referendum was held. The PM did not wake up and decide to order a referndum, nor did the USA president come and force the UK to hold one.

Pray, point out the fabrication/s in my submission. Am sure you have read Ojukwu's letter to Banjo (and if not, a quick google search will satiate your feigned ignorance) .

Ojukwu's major objective was to bring southern nigeria under his domain using Banjo to do his dirty work for him(Ojukwu).
