Please I need your advice

I just bought this pot in idumota days ago, but when I boiled eggs in it, the used turned brown.

Please has anyone here witnessed anything like this before?
I am thinking that this could be a result of the chemical used by the manufacturer of the pot.

After scrubbing off the brownish colour with power, I boiled water in it but it turned out brown again.

Please what could be the cause? I don't want anything that will affect my health. Should I discard the pot?

With time, the brownish color will go

Most quality pots are made of aluminum or stainless steel alloy. But some cheap ones are made out of iron sheet and then galvanized.
Iron (ferrous ) could oxidize and become Ferrous oxide (rust) when exposed to water in the presence of oxygen.
The heat from cooking has eroded the the galvanized coating and exposed the original material to rust, aided by the egg shell.

Why was the pot so quick to degrade? The answer is simple - boiled egg. Egg shell has very powerful cleansing effect. In fact egg shell could be grounded to powder and used as household scrubbing powder ( Vim).

The OP is just a newbie.

You have nothing to worry about.
Since its a new pot, this is just a reaction because of the heat meeting the minerals in the water, this is called patina effect.
happens if you didn't wash the pot before using it for the first time also if the water you're using has a high mineral content.
The more you use the lesser the water becomes brownish.

The only bad pot for our health are non stick pot.
Non stick pot is dangerous to our health. Aluminum pots are the best.
