Please I need your advice

I just bought this pot in idumota days ago, but when I boiled eggs in it, the used turned brown.

Please has anyone here witnessed anything like this before?
I am thinking that this could be a result of the chemical used by the manufacturer of the pot.

After scrubbing off the brownish colour with power, I boiled water in it but it turned out brown again.

Please what could be the cause? I don't want anything that will affect my health. Should I discard the pot?
Bin it. It's inferior quality. Very very inferior. Nigeria is why everybody dump their waste.

Most quality pots are made of aluminum or stainless steel alloy. But some cheap ones are made out of iron sheet and then galvanized.
Iron (ferrous ) could oxidize and become Ferrous oxide (rust) when exposed to water in the presence of oxygen.
The heat from cooking has eroded the the galvanized coating and exposed the original material to rust, aided by the egg shell.

Why was the pot so quick to degrade? The answer is simple - boiled egg. Egg shell has very powerful cleansing effect. In fact egg shell could be grounded to powder and used as household scrubbing powder ( Vim).

Just in case you are looking to buy another quality set of pots and pans, this set is for sale.

If Naira was stable, it would not have been a big deal. But true, even at that it is still pricey.
However, it comes with life time warranty.

It is normal since you use it to boil water because heat and water with the metal that is the result you will get if you use it for another it will not be like that

Try using pure water... I feel that is happening as a result of hard water.

It's advisable to use stainless pot, though it's more expensive.

It's chemistry. The pot is not a good quality steel. The iron constituent gets oxidized when subjected to heat and air. The brown colouration is due to Iron (III oxide.

It's better you use a good quality pot (stainless steel), instead of this cast iron pot.

1.5 m last? Lol. I use a quality pot and the set didn't cost me more than $400. Please consider the country’s economy where you are quoting a set of pot for 1.5m last. How many Nigerians earn upto 1.5m annually?

It's better to buy non-stick cooking pots and frying pan.. all these aluminium pots outside now are low quality.
