The Vice Chancellor, University of Benin, Professor Edoba Omoregie, SAN, has revealed plans to spread development of infrastructure to Site ‘B’ of the Ugbowo Campus of the University.

Prof. Omoregie disclosed this when he met with the Chairman, Senate Committee on Tertiary Institutions and TETFund, Senator Muntari Dandutse in Abuja.

He emphasised the importance of transforming the infrastructure architecture of the neglected site ‘B’ in order not to further congest the already oversubscribed Site ‘A’.

The Vice Chancellor, therefore, solicited the support of the Senate Committee to actualise his plans.

Responding, Senator Dandutse pledged his Committee’s support and intervention to the Omoregie administration whenever it is necessary.

Mr VC, please kindly look into the issue of collection of transcript from Uniben. Many guys are on campus fleecing people of their money.

Uniben alumni are all over the world and you don't expect someone who is in, for example, Malaysia or Australia or Japan, to come down to Benin to collect an ordinary transcript.

Please, Mr VC, expunge the University campus of these hoodlums, talk to the people at Exams and Records, and make the process of transcript collection easy.

Universities like uniben should have their independent clean power supply locally developed, unfortunately this isn't the case, they still rely so much on discos to supply them power without which they remain in darkness or rely on fossil fuel powered generators, Universities should be able to provide local solutions to their own issues and proceed to help the nation at large . This is the kind of development I want from our universities instead of building more sites without any reasonable development
