Dutch clubs, Ajax, VVV Venlo and Roda JC Kerkrade are leading the rally to raise at least €170,000 – about N272,109,812.23 – for their former player and ex-Nigeria international, Tijani Babangida, who is in the Netherlands with his wife for treatment after being involved in a ghastly accident earlier this year, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.Source: https://punchng.com/babangidas-ex-dutch-clubs-lead-e170k-crowdfunding-for-nigerian/

These guys (most of them in the entertainment and sports) are touching real money, I mean a lot of it but are not planning well they usually have this mentality of the money will keep coming without investing part of it in anything, and when shit hits them and that money is no longer coming, they start regretting. Right now, person wey I dey pity pass is Wizkid, I just hope he is investing his money well sha coz, to come from poor home, come touch money then go back to poverty again, isn't what I'd even wish even an enemy. |

Wow! This is quite unfortunate. I'm not trying to dictate to others on how to spend their money, but with the huge amount of current and former football legends we have in this country, a treasure like Tijani Babangida who brought honor to this country shouldn't have resorted to begging. We have so many rich music stars; folks like Dangote, Otedola, Adenuga etc should please rise to help. Obafemi Martins, Mikel, Igalo, Ahmed Musa etc should please assist. The Tinubu family abeg help. Remi, Seyi, even Tinubu himself, even if he needs to do this via proxy. What I'm saying in essence is that the money is too little that the nation can't come together as one to save Tijani Babangida. If not that NFF is big for nothing, the NFF should have footed this bill. May God see him through this crisis. Revealpanda:This nonsense blind hatred and bitterness will be the end of most of you. This mf didn't even understand the headline talk more of the content. What a pity! |

This news should have been a shame to Nigeria if its govt & people were capable of such emotion. Tijani Babangida is a hero-present (not yet past) and he still had to japa to save what’s left of his family. But u that is a nobody from a long line of nobodies is busy waiting for politicians whose children all schooled abroad to make Nigeria better for ur kids?? Your mugu is like Betnaija, designed to cut in the nearest future! ![]() |

CodeTemplar:1. A lot of footballers, not just from Nigeria or Africa, end up broke after their playing days. An estimate gives as much as 40% of professional footballers go broke. TO quote this article.. The reality is that without robust planning a player’s fortune can slip away as easily as a Premier League ranking. An estimated 40% of professional footballers go bankrupt within five years of retirement, and many more struggle financially in later life, according to Xpro, an organisation that helps professional footballers adapt to life after their playing career.2. The article explains in detail 3. Not mentioned is the fact that once you rich, you are everyone's benefactor in this African continent. One NBA player from what is now South Sudan earned a fortune, most of it went to his relatives as 'support'. He had no regrets though. 4. Some footballers also are cheated by agents, and by people they supposedly trusted with their money. Even the late great Pele had to come out of retirement and play three seasons in the NASL In the USA In the 1970's largely because the person who he trusted with his money matters mismanaged it. |

Damn, that's really sad. Quite a shame the Nigerian government pr the footballing federation couldn't do anything and it had to take his former Dutch teams to help out. |

Hmm I don't even know what to say but heaven knows, No one lives forever, no one is strong forever, wealth matters only when you have health. A good man will never be abandoned by his friends, a true patriot will always be held firm by the pillars he has built. Those who destroy the future of our dear country and unborn kids will be judged by posterity. Meanwhile note it is only a Nigerian girl you will see preparing for marriage and she only has #5k or less in her account With a mind blowing milage |
