You're the one who's staying in your parents house that's why you're not aware that there's no law in Nigeria that restricts landlords from increasing their rent at will.

You're just being emotional and you should know that being emotional cannot win a case in court. The landlord gave him over 6 months notice of the increment which is just 30k. Where I stay my landlord gave me an increament notice of 500k.

Would you say you won't pay. Right there he'll tell an agent to find him a tenant and throw your things out. That's how insensitive these people have become.
My point in all of this doesn't make sense for landlord to increase rent every year??

Even if you have rights over what you sell that it makes sense you increase price very day??

Let be reasonable and even in law court he will be asked the reasons for the increase every year.

Your landlord increases rent by 500k ...NL with making mouth
It is faceless forum sha.

You're the one who isn't living in reality. Have you been to the market lately. You can buy a product 10k today and next week it's 20k. Is there any price regulation Body that checkmate the excesses of these traders?

Do you have a car, if yes I can assure you that whenever you change your synthetic engine oil you'll be greeted with at lest 10k increament. Tell me anything in Nigeria that the price is regulated?

Last week a friend told me of a 2 bedroom flat he saw at magodo for 5m. Would you tell the landlord that the price is outrageous? I can assure you that anyone who moves into that house would get a minimum of 20% increament when his rent expires.

That's the reality of the present day Nigeria no thanks to APC and Tinubu. If you haven't embraced this reality then you're not yet independent.

@your last paragraph, I have nothing to prove to you.

So is own the property he should be increasing the rent every year without any major reasonhuh

So if he pays 180 this year...next rent it will be increased to 210.
From 130 to 150 to 180.....isn't that callous.

Tenant also has there own right......only wicked people will support landlord increasing rent every year.
Oga if you can't afford the new rent carry your load and leave, it's not a must that you live in that house!
