You mentioned that Papa Oyedepo doesn't preach about salvation? I don't agree with you.

To get saved isn't anyone's responsibility but that of the Holy Spirit who convicts the sinners So inviting people to be part of the church assembly is a way to get them to keep hearing the word while we trust God for their day of salvation. Papa Oyedepo never ends any message without addressing those who are unsaved and giving them an opportunity to embrace Christ so they can be beneficiaries of His promise. Continually preaching about hell or heaven isn't what gets people saved either. Sometimes, they do so out of fear and fall right back into the world under pressure. People who embrace salvation because they love God are bound to stay rooted and grounded in Him.

If your burden is to preach Christ in the light you see Him, please go right ahead and do so. No one has the exclusive reserve to preach Christ.

Only Christ carries the whole burden of the world on His shoulders. Everyone one of us bear a part of His burden.

Believers are to go into the world and preach the gospel. So every one believer has the right to peach the gospel.

So instead of comparing ministers who are occupying their office and doing their bid, I urge you to embrace your call for they are horne from our burdens.

Inviting people to church is a strategy by the Church to ensure that they keep reaching out to the unsaved.

The chances for conversion is higher than a one off meeting

So that's what impressed me about David Abioye's teachings the few times I heard them not something else.

For instance this particular teaching is Christlike and the kind of teaching Christ would be teaching if He were Himself, however I have never heard Bishop Oyedepo teaching or expressing such a concern before, despite knowing him since the late 80's and early 90's when he was yet in Kaduna up til now.

I know that he is more obsessed with getting more church members into his church and building bigger church buildings than getting souls into the kingdom of God, as was the case with most prosperity preachers, as is clearly reflected in their teachings, hence even though the church now has become filled and brimming with members than it's ever been in it's history, it's also the church that's made sinners become most comfortable in their sins instead of coming to repentance since the church began.

This is a serious concern I have always had concerning today's church and have shared here and elsewhere times without number, but many spiritually blind Christians have taken that to be an attack on the church, so it's good to see Bishop David Abioye who they view as one of their own also expressing the same concerns about today's church.

It's baffling though that it took his retirement from Oyedepo's church for us to hear such a teaching from him, which makes it seem like a blessing in disguise but just wished it happened much sooner.

Gospel of salvation comes last and obviously not a significant part of their message.

No better or intense reason for erring people to come to salvation.

It's complicated.
Where he sits, his level of activity, where does he go at break times for instance? Does he join his ex- colleagues to pray behind the altar, does he go into his vehicle or does he just sit behind the auditorium?
Would he be afforded concentration to worship by the distraction of his presence?


My personal perspective: You can be retired from a ministry but not the calling of God. At that point your steps are exclusively ordered by your new Master, Jesus. The decision to attend Shiloh at that point is the consideration of Jesus' new assignment, not the retired one.

In all only Abioye would know the countenance of the top echelon of Winners Ministry about attending this year's Shiloh, Only him too would know God's direction about it.

I am really very surprised at your judgement. I do enjoy your sermons here on nairaland knowing someone so much loves the Lord and preaches as we do just in the days of scripture union. Till now, the fire of God still burns in me. But your recent criticism over Bishop Oyedepo kept me in wonder. I would have just ignored you as I rarely quote people on nairaland, but because this criticism is coming from you, I have to answer you this once, and will never again. My dear brother, don't ever say what you don't know because you might be wrong, and who are you to judge? Your words against Bishop Oyedepo means you really don't listen to his messages. Finally, beware because indeed satan could be eaten deep inside of you, and might be using you to cause division among the followers of Christ. Please watch it and be cautious. Christianity is centered around Christ and Him alone. Jesus said if any man should come after me,he must deny himself daily band take up his cross and follow me.

Denying oneself daily and taking up ones cross is what is missing in most preaching and teaching.
The preaching of the cross is the power of God. It is not just preaching the salvation, is all about denying oneself and taking up his cross

Is it the same Abioye that said his call is not to preach about hell?.

Anyone who possesses sound oratory and we'll enlightened could preach. Do you know the devil himself is a better theologian than all of us.

Let me tell what changes men, it is the preaching of the cross. Does Abioye preach about the Cross. If he does preach about the Cross, his relationship with Oyedepo and all the pulpits bandits would have gone sore a long time ago.

Do ever wonder why, even though with a lot programs and preachings in Nigeria, yet men aren't changing? It is because it entirely a different gospel. Instead preaching Christ and Him crucified, they are preaching and entirely different gospel.
