As an employee, you must dance according to tune of your employer. As long as he is under Oyedepo, there are certain messages he can never preach.

When I recently shared a thread about how impressed I was with the spiritual depth of Bishop Abioye's teachings the first few times I ever heard them, although this particular teaching wasn't among the ones I heard but only a few days old, it perfectly illustrates my point.

The spiritual depth i spoke about with his teachings I heard so far, didn't have to do with his physical appearance, oratory skills, eloquence, verve or the tone of his voice or even how appealing his message was to me as many misinterpreted, but about how much his teachings aligned with that of Christ, because Christ teachings which is what He commanded His disciples to teach all men to keep before His departure from the earth (Matthew 28:20), ought to be the standard with which the teaching of any church leader or minister was measured, not what appeals to us or what we want to hear.

So that's what impressed me about David Abioye's teachings the few times I heard them not something else.

For instance this particular teaching is Christlike and the kind of teaching Christ would be teaching if He were Himself, however I have never heard Bishop Oyedepo teaching or expressing such a concern before, despite knowing him since the late 80's and early 90's when he was yet in Kaduna up til now.

I know that he is more obsessed with getting more church members into his church and building bigger church buildings than getting souls into the kingdom of God, as was the case with most prosperity preachers, as is clearly reflected in their teachings, hence even though the church now has become filled and brimming with members than it's ever been in it's history, it's also the church that's made sinners become most comfortable in their sins instead of coming to repentance since the church began.

This is a serious concern I have always had concerning today's church and have shared here and elsewhere times without number, but many spiritually blind Christians have taken that to be an attack on the church, so it's good to see Bishop David Abioye who they view as one of their own also expressing the same concerns about today's church.

It's baffling though that it took his retirement from Oyedepo's church for us to hear such a teaching from him, which makes it seem like a blessing in disguise but just wished it happened much sooner.

Stop spewing thrash. Many members of his church have come out to express the same concerns, including in this thread, so that you're spiritually blind and can't see that you're being led into the ditch doesn't mean everyone everyone is like you.

If you still cannot see the glaring excesses of Oyedepo even after his enforced retirement of the person who has served him faithfully for many decades and is supposed to take over from him, then your own case knows no bounds.

You should worry about yourself and not those following the example of Christ in calling out the excesses of spiritually blind leaders.

What we're doing calling out their excesses is what Jesus would have done if He were here, so we're only following His example.
