There were many stories narrated by traders in Ochendo market, Ariaria market and some small markets nearby Samek in Aba last year July, 2023 on how Police and army stole goods and cash from their shops. One trader narrated how 100,000 naira was stolen by the Nigerian security agencies. One incident was even funny, the police ate the meat a trader left while running away when they fired gunshots and tear gas to chase away traders from the market.

One incident was captured on video where two Nigerian police men saw some goods in a wheelbarrow left by a woman trader that ran away. The policemen took all the goods including the wheelbarrow.
