A political activist, Aisha Yesufu, has urged prominent British-Nigerian politician, Kemi Badenoch to move on from her fixation on Nigeria.

Badenoch has sharply divided Nigerians with some of her recent comments about the country, with Vice President Kashim Shettima accusing her of denigrating Nigeria.

In a fresh incident, the Leader of the UK Conservative Party was asked by a British journalist if she trusted the British police.

Responding, Badenoch said, “I do. My experience with the Nigeria Police was very negative. Coming to the UK, my experience with the British Police was very positive.”

She claimed men of the Nigeria Police Force stole her brother’s shoe and watch but did not elaborate on the incident.

Yesufu, who reposted a short clip of the interview on X, chided Badenoch for making her response about Nigeria when the question did not warrant it.

“Kemi Badenoch @KemiBadenoch should grow up and move on! Context is everything! She was asked if she trust the British police? How is what happened with Nigerian police a reason for her to know if she will trust her British police or not? What also brought in our poverty?” Yesufu queried.

She added, “If UK doesn’t give enabling environment for people to loot Nigeria’s wealth and take it there, poor and Nigeria will not be in the same sentence.

“So because the bar is low in Nigeria, it doesn’t mean that she should lower the bar for their police there! She should not use her Nigerian poverty mentality to lower the bar there!”

Yesufu also charged the Nigeria Police Force to improve on its performance.

“@PoliceNG , you see your life? Always disgracing us up and down!” she said.

Nope. She has not. She keeps mentioning Naija in every occasion she gets asked about governance. Truth is, using Naija as comparative benchmark to win votes in a 1st world super power democracy is pure political buffoonery. She’s unlikely to be elected as PM.

Oponu! You have nothing going in your life - I repeat. If not, you will understand that Cameron is an outsider. His opinion carries lesser weight and is less potent than that of Kemi. Kemi is one of us - A Nigerian, a first generation immigrant, first Nigerian opposition leader in the UK, and she's closest to becoming the UK prime minister than any African or Nigerian has ever been. If she speaks, the entire world is listening, with very great attention. With that kind of clout, you don't want that kind of person saying Nigerians are boko haram terrorists.

If someone like David Hundeyin (someone I don't even like anyways) is criticizing her, take a step back and try to understand what's going on.

Shey India is not corrupt or don't you know Indians are complaining about their politicians too? Did you ever see or hear Rishi Sunak do this to his country while prime minister? Did you every see him call Indians Hizbul Mujahideen?

I never doubted when I first come across the data showing Africans have the lowest IQ among all races on earth, anyways. I'm never surprised with the way many of Nigerians think and behave.

Aisha is an hypocrite. The importance of the message should not be downplayed no matter who says it. Aisha herself has preached more of the same message Kemi is now preaching. Why is Aisha now changing the goal post?

For her to be Prime Minister, her party needs to win a convincing majority of seats. That includes constituencies with black voters.

Unfortunately, several prime ministers and leaders of opposition in the UK have not ended up in good steady. Liz Truss crashed the economy, Rishi Sunak led his party to a landslide defeat, Boris Johnson resigned in disgrace, David Cameron resigned after losing a Brexit vote, Theresa May left due to Brecit mismanagement, Jeremy Corbyn was axed for anti-semitism, Tony Blair lost his position after losing the confidence of his party for misleading parliament in the Iraqi war.

Suddenly, a black woman who is desperate for white acceptance believes her case would be different. Meghan Merkle who we may not have known was not mixed race if she never said it was vilified by the British media and racists for "polluting" their monarchy with her black ancestry.

But Kemi Badenoch thinks somehow, that society would accept her.
