I would think an institute is a micro educational organization that is specialized in training a particular field of study.

While a faculty is a section of a larger educational organization, a faculty focuses on a particular field of study

When you say the word "micro", does it mean the award an institute offer is an inferior Msc?

Not at all, the use of the word "micro" is in relation to the size of the educational organization and has nothing to do with the quality of the certificate.

But in the real world, sometimes other factors such as Popularity, funding, R&, strength of Alumni, region etc. affects how the certificate is received.
