if the govt can't provide anything for it's citizens then why do we have govt in the first place. They have all the resources , power and money and can't do anything. What is the essence of paying tax, having passport, voting during election, doing all this for a govt that is only going to harm you. And do nothing good for you.
It's high time we should share the country let everyone have access to his own mini country with no govt.

The govt meant to provide for the citizens are killing them off.
While I agree the government should encourage more people to go into agriculture by giving incentives and all, it is also the responsibility of the citizens to take up the challenge.

Your last statement just proved that you're the only delusional person here.

You're not gonna find out the truth about the East on Western textbooks. So try to read history books from other parts of the world.
Why did the USSR crumble? Any system built on lies and false propaganda will find out the hard way. Go back and read history and this time with your brain fully functional.

Generally... I believe food stuffs is far cheaper in Russia compared to Nigeria. I'm talking from experience... I can't finish my 1 day salary in one week on feeding because most companies tend to feed their workers with 2 square meal.. Russia is a first world country that subsidized most things for people living here.

Mr Historian. I bet you don't know that Britain, France and others all signed a friendship agreement with Hitler, the same agreement the Soviet Union signed.

And guess what? They signed it a year before the Soviet Union did.

Did you also know that US banks funded Hitler and the German war machine as it is doing now in Ukraine? I guess you don't, you've spent so much of your life bathing yourself in western propaganda you've lost the ability to think for yourself.

You let western media do the reasoning for you.

And btw Russia/USSR killed about 86% of the Nazis. They conquered Berlin, surrounded Hitler's bunker before Hitler shot himself. Hitler's remains is still in a museum in Moscow as we speak.

So get down on your knees and continue thanking Russia for the freedom you enjoy today. They paid for it in blood. By now you'd be a farm animal speaking German if not for Russia.

The western allied forces killed only 5% of the Nazis and fought in the lowest intensity battle areas. The Russians fought on the bloodiest and fiercest front which was the eastern front.

There's a reason why only Russia is allowed to celebrate WWII Victory Day, not even Ukraine or the west is allowed to do that. The west celebrates their Normandy/D-Day Landing only.

Russia won the war singlehandedly but today the US takes all the glory. It's in their nature so not surprised.

And please don't tell me it was the USSR and not Russia. Matter of fact, Ukrainian SSR was easily conquered by the Nazis, it was the Russians that came to their rescue.

The so called lend lease program the US provided to the Russians was only about 5% of the total military equipment Russia used in fighting that war. And the amount ($11 billion in today's money) has since been paid back in full by Russia.
You really have strength to be replying that guy .. he should study history and he will understand... Not what he sees on the TV... He should dig deep... I won't bother arguing with him....

You sit behind your phone and type rubbish. Do you know how large the country is? Is all parts covered in snow all year round? Read about the country Russia and all the amenities they offer to their citizens. Do you know education is almost free in Russia for its people?
Do not always go with western propaganda that promotes their failing countries and try to bring down others succeeding without them.
Do you know that in Yakutsk they do not put off their car engines except they are parking it at night? The engine keeps running because if put off it freezes, Yet petrol is dirt cheap over there and we that are not at war or under sanctions still petrol prices is over the roof.
We are being messed up by criminals minded rulers controlled by these Western devils through IMf and world bank.
Most immigrants are also on scholarship with tuition and accommodations paid for, and things are very cheap.. with 700 rubles monthly sub, you are entitled to unlimited transportation.

Might be so, but even in the US, food comes among the least as a concern. Food is cheaper, and with varieties of them. Yeah, African markets may have them a bit on the high side, but overall, common foods, locally sourced are far cheaper, even in the UK.

The reasons are many why Nigeria is the way it is.
Nairametrics wrote sometimes this year that nearly half of poultry farmers are out of business... The reason is obvious.
Nigeria has never been the same in the recent years because of inflation, lack of production, insecurity, worsening policies etc

It is unthinkable to feel that what government does at the peak of power has no impact on the least of things. To think like that is a delusion.

Blessed with arable lands, but what is the proportion of the lands that are being cultivated? Many farmers have lost lives or their farmlands because of insecurity, many harvests are wasting because of bad roads or no road at all; how many manufacturing plants are processing farm produce in many states?
Nigeria’s farm to consumer policy is very poor reason why food is scarce and expensive.

No roads, taxes, too much wahala for farmers

You are right about American having great weather and having more farm produce... To be sincere, I don't know were Russia gets their food from, but I'll proudly tell you that things are very cheap in Russia compared to Nigeria.

I'm not the owner of this link, but I just feel like answering you.

Truth is, there are right clothing for the weather and I can bet you that 70% of Russians don't even know that there's war going on because nobody ever heard about it or feels the effect... Maybe those that borders with Ukraine... Most times, it's people outside Russia that even update us... We go about our business like always...

Wow, I do have some questions though.
What is the minimum wage in that area in Russia and what percentage of your monthly income do you have to spend to procure these items?
Let me give you an insight... For foreigners that do menial jobs, you can get paid between 200 to 400 rubles per hour... Na you know how many hours you Wana work for.... For someone that earns 300 rubles and work for 10 hours daily, that is 3k rubles...

Truth is, where I work, I get 2 square meal daily that consists of the 3 course meal... At the end of the day, you see that you can't even finish your 1 day salary in 1 week... It all boils down to individual choice sha. Things are relatively cheap in Russia except accomodations that cost around between 10 to 30k rubles per month, depending on your choice ... Those items she bought for that amount may be quarter of what she earns daily....

Valuable insight!
From the little math I have done, I see that a month's rent can be covered with a week's worth of salary provided that you have a 10 hour work day throughout the week, which I think is incredible.
Are there taxes that have to be paid and what percentage of your salary do you have to pay in taxes?

While I agree the government should encourage more people to go into agriculture by giving incentives and all, it is also the responsibility of the citizens to take up the challenge.
Nigerians generally don't like to invest in anything that can take a year or more to see profit, this is why even rich Nigerians are not into food production.
Just like almost all rich Nigerians are into oil and gas, let them also invest in agriculture because it is very important for the country.
It is totally unrealistic to expect the government to produce and ration food like in a communist country.
most of you talk gibberish without economic sense. there are many farmers already In Nigeria the main occupation in Nigeria today is farming.

many rich Nigerians are into oil yet the price rose to 1200 immediately govt removed subsidy..
Not even dangote can bring the price down if he except govt starts paying subsidy.

Anyone into farming is doing so in a small scale for his own benefit or profit.
Govt has to invest or subsidize it to become cheap. Even if everyone starts farming (which is not possible) won't they pay for land, seeds, labour, storage and all?

They can't even provide basic security for the poor farmers.

You are talking nonsense. Majority of Nigerian farmers are subsistence farmers, maybe that was ok in 1900. That is not the type of farming I'm talking about.
It is not the job of the government to invest in agriculture, let the government do what the government should do like providing the enabling environment.
Some of you just open your mouths waa and spew ignorance thinking that you are making sense.
