Nigeria has now surpassed Côte d’Ivoire in the all time Confederation of African Football Men’s Player of the Year winners, following the emergence of Ademola Lookman as the 2024 African Player of the Year.

The Nigerian star was named the African Player of the Year at the prestigious 2024 Confederation of African Football Awards held in Marrakesh, Morocco on Monday night.

Nigeria has also officially become the country with the most CAF Player of the Year Award, winning the award seven times.

Nigeria is the only country to win the CAF POTY Award in 2 consecutive years on 3 occasions, with different players.
