He should try and practice what he learnt... Eg, he should open his own club and be the Head of the finance team. Problem solved |

You chose the WRONG qualification to pass the right message. If your FICTIONAL Emmanuel was half as smart and ambitious as you painted him to be, then he'd have gotten his ICAN accreditation and find his way into a Big 4 Accounting Firm through their ROBUST Internship programmes. Next time you want to tell a cock-and-bull story, make it BELIEVABLE! ![]() |

Despite the challenges... Emmanuel has found a way to adapt and make a living even though it's not his dream job. Who knows... It may only be a stepping stone and he may be able to land his dream job if he keeps trying! |

Emmanuel should start learning forex with his impressive c.v. I am sure with a background in Finance, it shouldn’t take him long to grasp it |

Are they no jobless graduates with Ican certification...? As If Ican automatically guarantees you a job. In a country where even ph. D holders struggle to get employment. Dey play! |

Don't waste money doing any stupid masters in nigeria, it's better you chanell that resources and time into learning digital skills and acquiring tools When you have the means, you can do your masters and other degrees abroad, everything about Nigeria is fuccked and what ever Kemi said about her is the absolute truth and nothing but the truth |

| Re: The Sad Reality Of Nigeria Master Degree Holders by Namaster: 7:43pm On Dec 17, 2024 |
popweezy:Regardless of where I'm based, my words are TRUE. A brilliant, hardworking and ambitious man who is certified as a CHARTERED Accountant would have ZERO problem securing a DECENT job in Nigeria. The BIG 4 internship route is the EASIEST. Accounting is a PROFESSIONAL course with a clearly defined path. These Big 4s are ALWAYS recruiting in THIRD-WORLD countries like Nigeria and India because they are eager to exploit cheap labour. They outsource jobs from expensive first-world countries to their branch companies in places like Nigeria. If Emmanuel is smart and ambitious and a CHARTERED accountant but he tends a bar; Emmanuel does NOT exist. That is the TRUTH. |

Namaster:Did you consider his age? Or you think 🤔 big 4 take people who are older than 26yrs for internship. Are you aware that we have many CA in Nigeria that are jobless? |
| Re: The Sad Reality Of Nigeria Master Degree Holders by JOACHINpedro: 7:46pm On Dec 17, 2024 |
Education won't give you money. That's what we fail to understand. I will go do my masters, but trust me I'm not hoping on hitting it big with that degree. Me that can't work for someone. I just get the education and dey run my side hustle |
| Re: The Sad Reality Of Nigeria Master Degree Holders by Namaster: 8:11pm On Dec 17, 2024*. Modified: 12:50pm On Dec 18, 2024 |
Oyindamolah:I said the Internship route is rhe EASIEST. Not the ONLY one. KPMG has Graduate Trainee Programmes for people up to 28-years old. And being Chartered is not even a requirement. So if Emmanuel is a Chartered Accountant, it'd be a BONUS! There may be JOBLESS Chartered Accountants but I assure you they are NO Emmanuels. If Emmanuel is SMART, DILIGENT, AMBITIOUS and CHARTERED, an Emmanuel can NEVER be jobless. Even in a shithole like Nigeria. That's the GOSPEL! |
| Re: The Sad Reality Of Nigeria Master Degree Holders by Esthered: 8:57pm On Dec 17, 2024 |
Emmanuel doesn't prepare for aptitude tests hence the struggle. |
| Re: The Sad Reality Of Nigeria Master Degree Holders by WantsandMore: 9:13pm On Dec 17, 2024 |
Oyindamolah:That’s what you think, moreover, everyone’s grasp and strategy of trading the market different. He wouldn’t know if he doesn’t first of all try. |

Why did an accounting graduate go for masters instead of ICAN/ACCA. If he can’t get jobs in the major places he can start from small audit firms and work his way up. Sometimes you can have all the qualifications and have poor interpersonal skills or look like an agbero. The story looks made up |
| Re: The Sad Reality Of Nigeria Master Degree Holders by Ankakh: 10:13pm On Dec 17, 2024 |
Sounds like a fiction but no doubt the unemployment in Nigeria is not a joke. And the chances are more dire for graduates when the courses being taught in school is far from what's used in the marketplace. Now, you need a handy skill, some networking skill and good communication added to your degree to give you a fighting chance in the real world. |

Well, I doubt your story, even though unemployment is a major debacle if this country. E go hard for pezin to attend any two of UI, Unilag, OAU, Unilorin, UNN, Covenant and graduate with good grades and not know how to saddle his career journey, even if na overseas scholarship or some office or some success with business or online whatever, the pezin go see, no be to dey do bartender he go dey do like. The person would know best he needs ICAN and ACCA and the likes to stand out. For instance, my younger sister studying Accounting in Unilorin is about to conclude her Professionals in ICAN at year 4. She said about half of her classmates have or are on verge of having their ICAN certificates. Shey na those ones go finish, do Masters still no go get work? My friend who studied BSc and MSc in Accounting in OAU, finished last year and got placement for 350k permanent banking job, she declined, saying she's worth more, and she's 31. She left for UK in January and got job almost soon. Na you dey paint this unrealistic story. Quality education still opens doors! No dey yarn okpata |
| Re: The Sad Reality Of Nigeria Master Degree Holders by Oblongata: 12:29am On Dec 18, 2024 |
I really doubt this story! One of the hottest jobs in that country is Accounting! Unless your friend didn’t charter. I was an Accountant for 10 years and I know that field in that sh*t hole… Patapata he go join audit trainee Unless na old guy |
| Re: The Sad Reality Of Nigeria Master Degree Holders by LordIsaac(m): 1:05am On Dec 18, 2024 |
The question is, why Masters? You don't do Masters because there is no job. With such a motivation, you shall master nothing! Quote me daily, twice on weekends. ![]() |

The problem with nigerians is that the average nigerian want to be oga at the top immediately without going from bottom to top If na for away , you'll see negros doing all sort of rubbish work that even a yt man won't bother to do But come to nigeria where nigerians cant do a job because pay is low or job is shitty or exceeds their expectations
