Today, I signed off on the Odonla-Odogunyan Housing Estate Project, a collaborative initiative between the Lagos State Government and Access Bank Plc.

The housing estate will cover an impressive 9.98 hectares of land and will feature 704 units spread across 44 blocks, all consisting of modern 2-bedroom apartments.

It will include a cinema house, a playground, a water treatment plant, well-constructed road networks, and other modern amenities.

We’re not just building homes. We are focused on enhancing the living experience for our residents.

All those buildings they built in the past I never hear say they allocated them to vulnerable people. Wasting money for the rich that will buy and rent out to the poor.

I have seen things in this life. I remember when the manufacturing plant I was working for moved from Lagos mainland proper to Odogunyan. Then the access road from Odonla to Odogunyan was like one of the million ways to die. Environment was heavily polluted by Indian and Chinese steel smelting plants that dots the landscape.

So much arable land that could be used for farming lying fallow there.

Lagos can pass for a country with it's population and socio economic activities.

Nobody told me to resign after one year.

A welcome development..
But I believe this will come with a cost.

Some of these lands would have been taken from already bought lands and demolished houses.

And the southwest governors should start working towards the self sufficiency of the region in terms of Agriculture and infrastructure.

It is high time we finally leave other regions behind.
