Really don't see much issue with it. This is also very early into post production so it's definitely going to improve with six months left for touch up.

I remember people really angry with the very first poster and suit some months back....but with the recent poster it's generally been mostly positive and excitement.

It’ll make almost a billion or even more- children and nostalgia don’t care about reviews- the first movie is a testament of that

Same colour grading Gunn used in The Suicide Squad

The outdoor shots looks a bit weird.

The colour grading in TSS is basically an improved version of this, and if that is what Gunn is trying to replicate then there's no need to worry.

TSS is Gunn's best looking film imo.

Where is the original actor who played Mr Miyagi?

Looks promising.

Will Poulter grew up before our eyes into quite an attractive young man. He is one of the few child actors who was able to successfully transition into adult roles and still remain relevant.

Just saw a clip on X with Mike Tyson talking about human hunting on Joe Rogan's podcast. Make me want to watch this movie again. Downloading it tomorrow when I get to work. The Hunt

For some reasons I don't know, this is one of my favourite movies, a comfort movie for me, I'd like to see it again tomorrow. So many quotable quotes from Edge of Tomorrow
The Hunt is very interesting, albeit gory.

This is also my idea on it. It's not CWish brother - the colour grading is done with motive

As a motion designer, little technicalities like colour grading, hue, saturations etc piqued my interest instantly when i saw the teaser, but perhaps i was too critical with it, and i believe there are ample reasons why they've gone with this style. I just hope the finished product is good.

This is a teaser trailer. And I'm even quite surprised with how quickly they put things in order to get a trailer ready this December.... surprising for a top tier blockbuster.

Main reason I'm not putting laser focus on the look of the teaser cos I personally feel it's too early

I only feel it's a bit oversaturated with yellow hue and contrast, but I'm suspecting its narratively to tell how sunny and bright Metropolis is. And those shots are people looking up to something with a group shot and in daylight. From my experience in Cinematography, daylight shots with natural sunlight looks bland compared to controlled lighting. Take those same shots indoors with controlled lighting and depth of field and it's super elevated.

As a videographer/cinematographer who also dwells into video editing and colour grading, that just looks like a rough draft.

Main reason why I'm not looking much into the colour grading cos it feels lightly touched or untouched to me. Doesn't look like a final product. There's some parts that feels like shooting in LOG (if you're familiar with videography and codecs/format) as opposed to a completed colour graded work. This just looks more or a less like a simple colour correction than a colour grade — which is with more complex layers and filters.

Anora (2024)

If the hype seems too good to be true, it probably is

Ever since its screening at Cannes, Anora has been receiving high praise, touted as one of the movies of the year and even getting Oscar buzz. Naturally, I was excited when it finally arrived on digital this week. However, my joy quickly turned to disappointment after watching it.

The story follows a stripper who enters a whirlwind contract relationship with the son of a Russian oligarch, culminating in a marriage that the disapproving oligarch attempts to annul.

If this movie hadn't been hyped as one of the best of the year, I might have accepted it for what it is: a basic, run of the mill film. But no, the hype promised more. I kept waiting for something spectacular to happen, something to wow me. Yet, after the first act, it devolves into predictable clichés with no spark or originality.

Worse still, at a bloated runtime of over two hours, it felt like an eternity waiting for something to justify all the acclaim. But nothing did. Admittedly, the final scene was somewhat profound, but it only lasted about a minute, and by that point, the replay value had already plummeted to zero. I can’t imagine sitting through this again.

The second time i am falling for the Sean Baker ruse😩, one of those directors that would release any basic flick and get unnecessary high praise for no reason.
So, is this your average, overhyped film? Yes. Is it the masterpiece the buzz promised? Absolutely not.

5/10
